🪨☁️Resurrection Sunday Craft

When we were picking up rocks for this little craft, my little guy said his little pail was a little heavy. He still wanted to walk with it. So I went ahead and sneaked in a little lesson. (2I told him, "buddy Mom could help you carry that." So he let me. But I took a moment right where we were got to his level and I that I told him those little rocks/stones are like worries we sometimes carry.

"It's heavy isn't it?" He responded "yes I think so that it's heavy" Well that's how it feels when we hold on to fear, a heavy, sad, or worried feeling in your heart. It feels Heavy. I told him that's why God sent Jesus to die for us. He died for us, but rose on the third day so he could be our friend forever. And because Jesus is our friend forever and he loves us so much that he took the cross for us so we can give him all those burdens (like being scared, feeling sad when you're missing someone or because something sad happened, or whenever it's a tough day. Jesus can takes the heavy stuff. So then after all that I told him " how does it feel that you're not carrying the bucket anymore now that Mom is helping you?" he responded" I think I feel good. It's not heavy anymore. Thank you, Mom." I told him " you're welcome buddy. Just the way Mom helped you with those rocks.

Jesus is always there to help you carry anything that is taking your joy away. Anything that feels heavy we give it to Jesus by talking to him. Okay?" he responded with an

"okay Mom." and I told him " let's also thank Jesus.

Because when we lay all the heavy stuff at his feet, he makes us feel better so thank you Jesus, we give you all our worries and anything that's taking our joy away. fill us with your love and comfort. Amen!" You can teach your littles by telling them that they don't have to carry sad feelings alone. Teach them to talk to God ("pray") to let him take the heavy stuff away, so their heart may feel light and happy. ❤️

Read moreEngaging children in crafting activities like this Resurrection Sunday rock project not only fosters creativity but also provides a gentle way to introduce spiritual concepts in a relatable way. The use of rocks as symbols of worries offers a tangible representation of emotional burdens, which can be understood even by very young children. By physically carrying the bucket and feeling its weight, kids can connect their feelings of anxiety or sadness to something concrete, making the analogy more impactful. This experiential teaching method supports emotional intelligence and spiritual growth. When children learn that they don't have to carry their fears alone and can share them with Jesus through prayer, it builds a foundation for lifelong coping skills based on faith. Additionally, incorporating scripture such as Matthew 28:6, "He is risen," reminds them of Jesus' resurrection and everlasting support. For parents and educators, this craft presents an opportunity to nurture children's trust in God in everyday moments. Allowing children to express when their 'bucket feels heavy' opens communication lines about their feelings. Praying together at the end of the activity invites divine comfort and shows kids how prayer can help lighten emotional loads. Moreover, this craft encourages family bonding and can be adapted using different materials, such as colored paper or handprints for sunlight, making each creation unique and meaningful. Using hot glue safely by having the child toss the stones before pressing helps keep young ones involved while maintaining safety. Overall, this Resurrection Sunday craft beautifully blends creativity, faith, and emotional teaching, making it a valuable tool for Christian homeschooling, family devotionals, or church activities. It helps children appreciate Jesus' role as a friend who carries their burdens, inspiring hope and joy even during tough days.
