That Dizzy Feeling When I Get Up Is Real

Sometimes I get dizzy when I stand up too fast. The room spins, I get shaky, and I have to grab something to steady myself. It felt scary and frustrating because it would come out of nowhere.

At first, I thought it was just being tired or maybe not drinking enough water. But after it happened more often, I looked it up and found out it’s something called orthostatic hypotension where blood pressure drops when you stand quickly.

That was a lightbulb moment for me. I realized I was rushing to stand, not drinking enough water, and maybe not paying attention to how I was treating my body.

So I started making small changes: drinking more water, standing up slower, pausing before moving, and focusing on deep breaths as I stand. I also try to eat balanced meals to keep my energy steady.

It’s still a work in progress but those little habits have helped me feel safer and less shaky. If you deal with this too, try giving your body a moment to adjust and take care of yourself in small ways.
