I’m healing and questioning what we had

I’m healing and questioning what we had because I realize I kept making excuses for pain I experienced. I told myself it was love because I was afraid of being alone or starting fresh. I blamed myself when fights happened or when I felt confused by mixed signals. But love should never feel like that it should feel safe and clear.

I also see now how trauma bonding kept me stuck. Sometimes pain feels familiar, so I stayed even when it hurt. Trauma bonding means feeling attached to someone because of the pain, not because of real love. It’s hard to realize this, but recognizing it helps me break free.

Now, I’m choosing honesty and peace. I’m giving myself space to heal without excuses or confusion. I want a love that lifts me up that feels joyful and respectful. That’s what I’m moving toward.

This journey is messy but necessary, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come.

... Read moreTrauma bonding is a complex emotional attachment where pain mistakenly becomes associated with love, making it difficult to leave unhealthy relationships. This often happens when abuse or inconsistent behavior creates confusion, attachment, and an illusion of intimacy. Recognizing trauma bonding is essential for anyone feeling stuck in cycles of hurt or mixed signals. One key to breaking free is understanding that genuine love should feel safe, supportive, and uplifting—not confusing or painful. Many survivors initially blame themselves for relationship conflicts or make excuses to avoid loneliness or the uncertainty of starting over. However, awareness and acceptance of one's feelings help shift this mindset. Healing requires intentional space for self-reflection, honesty, and patience. Techniques such as journaling, therapy, and support groups focusing on trauma bond awareness can facilitate emotional growth and healing. Empowering yourself means setting boundaries, rejecting excuses for pain, and choosing relationships founded on respect and clarity. Pain can feel familiar, making the idea of change intimidating. However, moving toward peace is a courageous process that allows individuals to rebuild their self-worth and attract healthier connections. Developing emotional resilience supports long-term well-being beyond the trauma bond. The hashtags #HealingOutLoud, #TraumaBondAwareness, and #ChoosingMyPeace encourage community dialogue and shared experiences around these themes, guiding others on similar paths toward emotional freedom and joyful love.

4 Pillars of Trust Not what they say… how they show up.
Trust isn’t built on words. It’s built on patterns. Here’s what to look for: 1. Transparency Can they be open about their life and feelings? Or do you feel like you’re always guessing? 2. Consistency Do their actions match their words over time? Or does it depend on their mood? 3.

What is trauma and how do we heal?
The word "trauma" gets thrown around a lot. Trauma is how your body and mind reacted to an overwhelming experience. Because of the way our brain works, these reactions and emotions get tied to beliefs that engrain themselves into our psyche. 🧠 Your nervous system is essential to your sp
