Pickled Red Onions

Ingredients:

• 1 large red onion (thinly sliced)

• 1/2 cup white vinegar or apple cider vinegar (120 ml)

• 1 cup hot water (240 ml)

• 1 tbsp sugar (12 g)

• 1 1/2 tsp salt (9 g)

Instructions:

1. Peel the red onion and slice it very thin into rings or half-moons.

2. In a bowl or jar, mix the vinegar, hot water, sugar, and salt. Stir until the sugar and salt fully dissolve.

3. Place the sliced onions into a clean jar.

4. Pour the hot brine over the onions until they are completely covered.

5. Let it cool to room temperature, then close the jar and keep it in the refrigerator.

✅ They are ready after 30 minutes, but the flavor becomes much better after a few hours.

You can store them in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
