Itinerary in Aruba ✈️

My Honest Review SO FAR of Aruba

**Travel and Arrival:**

Our journey to Aruba was smooth, with a quick layover in Orlando. The airport is small, making transitions and baggage claim easy and fast.

**Island Overview:**

Aruba is a small country with a lot of open land. It’s a quiet, laid-back island, ideal for a relaxing getaway.

**Food:**

While there are some hidden gems, like local eateries with rich flavors, some places, such as Café de Plaza, can be quite bland and lacking in seasoning.

**Hospitality:**

The staff everywhere are incredibly friendly and sweet, making the stay pleasant.

**Transportation:**

Taxis are the most convenient but can be pricey, starting around $30 depending on your location. Cash is preferred to avoid card fees. Renting a car is an option, but beware of the lack of streetlights and roundabouts—an American license is sufficient to do so.

**Accommodation:**

Our Airbnb at Natural Haven Aruba ( Alfons and Alicia ) was fantastic. The host was exceptionally accommodating, with a quick response time and a warm welcome.

The property was spotless and well-equipped with essentials, including towels, soap, a laundromat, a blow dryer, and good WiFi. The open-concept living space was comfortable, and the rates were very reasonable. - Make sure to message them so they can accommodate you for your upcoming trip and stay.

**Island Vibe:**

Aruba is a chill island with a more mature vibe, especially outside the downtown area, which caters to a younger crowd. It’s a friendly place with not too much hustle and bustle, perfect for a peaceful retreat away from people.

Overall, Aruba offers a mix of relaxation and mild adventure, with excellent hospitality and some culinary hits and misses. It's a great destination for those looking to unwind and enjoy a slower pace of life.

Natural Paradise Aruba
2024/6/20 Edited to

... Read moreBuilding on my initial thoughts about what Aruba offers, I wanted to dive deeper into some specific spots and experiences that truly make the island shine – especially for those looking for those perfect photo opportunities or a vibrant culinary experience beyond the usual. While my main review touched on general travel aspects, these next few insights are all about enriching your specific itinerary and capturing the essence of Aruba. First up, a place that absolutely deserves a shout-out, especially if you find yourself near Palm Beach or Eagle Beach, is Eduardo's Beach Shack. This isn't just a food spot; it's genuinely an experience! I remember stumbling upon it early one morning after a refreshing swim in the clear blue waters, and the vibrant colors and fresh offerings immediately caught my eye. It's located right on the sand, giving you unparalleled views of the 'Aruba's coastline' as you dine. Eduardo's is famously known for its incredibly fresh acai bowls, bursting with tropical fruits, and their delicious poke bowls that are perfect for a healthy lunch. They also whip up amazing fresh fruit smoothies and juices. Imagine sitting there, sun warming your skin, enjoying a wholesome meal with the gentle sound of waves in the background – it's pure bliss and makes for fantastic 'images of Aruba' captures that truly convey the island's relaxed vibe. Unlike some of the other dining spots I mentioned (like Café de Plaza, which served up a frankly disappointing pasta plate), Eduardo's consistently delivers on flavor, freshness, and a wonderful atmosphere. It’s definitely a favorite for breakfast or lunch, providing that perfect beachside charm without being overly formal or expensive. When you're meticulously planning your 'Aruba itinerary,' think beyond just lounging on the pristine sands. The island is brimming with picturesque moments waiting to be discovered. For instance, after your visit to Eduardo's, you could easily dedicate the afternoon to exploring more of the stunning 'Aruba's coastline' near Palm Beach, perhaps even catching a glimpse of the famous Pelican Pier, which is a great spot for sunset photos. For a distinctly different visual, I highly recommend experiencing an 'Aruba night scene.' The way the palm trees are often illuminated with colorful lights, and those whimsical 'flamingo statues' (which you might see around the marina or hotel areas) create such a unique, romantic, and truly magical atmosphere. These moments offer a completely different set of 'images of Aruba' compared to your daytime beach shots, showcasing the island's versatility. To truly maximize your experience, especially if you're looking to craft a comprehensive '4-day Aruba itinerary,' consider dedicating one day to the rugged, untamed beauty of Arikok National Park. The natural pools, ancient caves, and desert-like landscapes offer a striking contrast to the calm beaches and provide incredible photo opportunities. Another day could involve exploring Oranjestad's charming and colorful Dutch colonial architecture, which is incredibly photogenic and tells a different story of the island. My personal experience taught me that while relaxation is absolutely key, mixing in these specific, visually rich activities truly elevates the trip. Think about starting your mornings with a fresh smoothie from a place like Eduardo's, then heading out for an adventure to capture the diverse 'images of Aruba,' and winding down with a beautiful sunset view from a beachside bar. Even the simple moments, like watching the waves gently lap the shore or finding a hidden cove, create lasting memories and stunning visual narratives. Aruba truly is a photographer's paradise, from its vibrant marine life to its charming streets and unique natural formations. So, whether you're craving a delicious acai bowl by the beach at Eduardo's, exploring the diverse landscapes of Arikok, or hunting for the most stunning vistas for your travel album, make sure to add these specific experiences to your Aruba plans. It’ll make your trip even more memorable and visually rewarding!
