Four books, four mini reviews! We’ve got a little romance, some mystery, and a book that involves being swallowed by a whale. Because I like to keep my reading life interesting. Have you read any of these? Or is one going on your TBR? #MiniBookReviews #BookRecommendations #WhatIRead

I keep telling myself I need to move somewhere remote and get away from everyone. Then I read books like these and think, well, maybe? Or maybe not? 😂 Turns out getting away from your problems might just give you a whole new set of problems. Where would you go to escape yours? #BookRecomm

Sometimes you just need to move to a small town and your problems will be solved. All of these books involve the small town. #smalltownbooks #bookrecommendation #smalltownromance #booksaboutbooks

Little Rock not only has several indie bookstores, but also Six Bridges Book Festival. I came for the festival and went to Sammy’s Bookshelf and WordsWorth Books. #bookshopping🛒 #indiebookstore #bookbuyingproblem

July Top Reads
I forgot to post my favorite books from July. It included a cozy fantasy and two romances. The Mash Up reminded me of the Barbie movie. Violet Thistlewaite is Not a Villain Anymore has me wishing I owned a flower shop. And Good at Being Alive has me still rethinking my life. All are great four star

Three September releases down, two to go. Trad Wife was the standout. Creepy, weird, and exactly my kind of unsettling. A Study in Sparkling was solid, just not quite as good as An Academic Affair. A Map to Murder had me much more invested in the 1960s mystery than the present-day one.

I really thought I was going to love The Love Hypothesis. Fake dating? Yes. Academic setting? Yes. STEM romance? Also yes. But I could never quite get past the reason for the fake dating. Kissing a random guy so your best friend believes you’re over someone, then continuing to fake date him f

Some books share a title and absolutely nothing else. These books have wives, werewolves, murder, and only their titles in common. Proof that titles do describe the book. Just not which book. #BookRecommendations #BookishHumor #ReadersOfTikTok

Mini reviews so I can remember the books next year. 📚 The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood 📚 An Academic Affair by Jodi McAlister 📚 Verity by Colleen Hoover 📚 The Women in White by Sarah Pekkanen Because by January I will absolutely remember the cover and none of the plot. Have you read

Sometimes you wish for a baby and a demon answers. Trad Wife starts with an isolated woman trying to be the perfect wife and somehow ends up in full-on “WHAT AM I READING?!” territory. Camille made me want to shake her. Her husband made me furious. And every time I thought I knew how weird th

I finally read Verity and I think the hype may have worked against it. I expected something completely unhinged. Instead, I mostly got terrible people keeping terrible secrets and making increasingly terrible decisions. Was I entertained? Yes. Was I shocked the way everyone told me I would be

I thought The Women in White was going to be a thriller. It is, eventually. For most of the book, I was much more interested in the friendship between the women and the creepy 1960s parapsychology experiments. Once I stopped waiting for it to be a different book, I liked it more. I still want

Enemies since college. Academic rivals. Fake marriage for employment benefits. Somehow, An Academic Affair also manages to have actual emotional depth without detonating the relationship for a third-act breakup. I especially liked watching Sadie and Jonah slowly realize they may have gotten each

I’ve read most of these and somehow it is still hot outside. So now I’m crowdsourcing wind. Books with wind, storms, breezes, suspicious weather patterns. Send them over. I’m willing to try anything. #BookRecommendations #Bookstagram #SummerReading #ReadersOfInstagram #BookRec

It’s hot!
It’s the time of year when I start wondering: is winter coming? The Starks told me it is. So here are a few books guaranteed to make you feel cold, even if it’s still 102 degrees outside. ❄️ 📚 The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah 📚 The Terror by Dan Simmons 📚 Any Trope But You by Victoria L

Your library card is basically a permission slip to try something weird. A citywide treasure hunt? Sure. A dead romance novelist? Obviously. A writing class that takes a turn? I’m listening. Crumbling manor full of family secrets? Already checked out. These are five-star backlist books I’d st

Some books ask for your whole weekend. These just need a couple of hours. Every book here is under 300 pages, but none of them feels slight. They’re quick, absorbing, and ideal for the days when you want to finish something before your attention span clocks out. Which one are you reading firs
