Hairstylist day “off” 🏡
Having experience in the hairstyling industry, I can say that days off are precious times to reset both physically and mentally. A hairstylist's day off doesn't just mean a break from clients—it’s an opportunity to focus on self-care and prepare for the busy days ahead. On my days off, I like to create a cozy environment at home where I can truly relax. Whether it’s enjoying a warm cup of tea, reading a book, or simply spending time with loved ones, these moments help reduce stress and recharge my energy. Another important part of my downtime involves hair care routines, but this time focusing on myself rather than others. I take extra care of my hair by using nourishing masks and treatments, which not only improves hair health but also inspires new ideas for styling my clients. I’ve found that doing what hairstylists call “DITL” (Day In The Life) journaling helps me reflect on my daily experiences and recognize areas where I can improve or innovate. This process refreshes my passion and keeps me motivated. Planning ahead is also key. On my days off, I like to organize my schedule and catch up on industry trends by watching tutorials or reading articles. This balance of rest and professional development ultimately enhances my work performance when I return to the salon. Taking time to be mindful and embrace the comfort of home can significantly boost creativity and prevent burnout. If you’re a hairstylist or anyone in a demanding job, treating yourself to a well-deserved day off can make all the difference in your well-being and career longevity.
