My shower routine starts with a double shampoo method, where I first use the LOREAL ELVIVE Hyaluron + Plump Shampoo designed for dry, dehydrated hair. This shampoo is enriched with hyaluronic acid, which helps retain moisture and plump the hair strands, providing vital hydration for hair exposed to changing climates. After rinsing, I follow up with the Neutrogena T/Sal Therapeutic Shampoo. This fragrance-free formula is specifically designed to address scalp build-up and conditions like psoriasis or dermatitis, which can be triggered or worsened by hormonal changes, such as those experienced during perimenopause. Using this shampoo helps maintain a healthy scalp without irritation, a key for long-term hair health. Conditioning is essential, and I use a two-step process. First, I apply the LOREAL ELVIVE Hydrating Conditioner primarily on the ends to lock in moisture. Then I use Aussie’s 3 Minute Miracle Moist deep conditioner with avocado oil, which is great for detangling and adding intense hydration, leaving hair soft and manageable. For the body, starting with the Tahitian Vanilla Shea Sugar Scrub feels luxurious and invigorates the skin, treating it gently yet effectively. After exfoliation, I switch to Dr Teal's Magnesium Body Wash in Honey Blossom scent, which soothes and calms the skin while offering a spa-like aromatherapy experience. For daily cleansing, especially sensitive or maturing skin, the CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Cleanser is my go-to product. It cleanses without stripping, thanks to ceramides, squalane oil, and hyaluronic acid, helping maintain the skin barrier—a must when showering frequently while camping. Lastly, I never skip a gentle scalp massage during my shower, boosting circulation and promoting relaxation. This small step greatly enhances the overall experience and hair health. Balancing all these steps creates a shower routine that not only keeps me feeling fresh and clean but also supports my hair and skin’s hydration needs amidst the unique challenges of RV life. I highly recommend trying products that target hydration and scalp health, especially if you notice dryness or sensitivity. It’s incredible how refreshing a well-planned routine can make every day feel like a wellness day, even on the road.
