God Cuts What He Plans to Grow.

When God sees future growth in you, He starts removing what cannot survive your next level.

Pruning feels like loss.

But it’s actually protection.

He cuts away dead fruit now so you can bear more later.

John 15:2 reminds us:

“Every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.”

Growth requires trust.

And trust grows in seasons of cutting.

... Read moreIn my personal experience, understanding God’s pruning process has been a significant turning point in my spiritual journey. Initially, the feeling of loss and the removal of familiar comforts felt painful and confusing. However, reflecting on John 15:2 — “Every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful” — brought a deep sense of reassurance. I have noticed that during the seasons when I face challenges or feel like God is taking something away, it often corresponds to a preparation phase for new growth. This divine cutting away isn’t punishment but a form of spiritual protection and refinement. For example, I once had to step away from a ministry role that I loved, which felt like a loss at the time. Yet, that period allowed me to develop other gifts and insights that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise. Trust is crucial in these times. Growth requires placing faith in God’s perfect knowledge of our future potential, even when the present circumstances seem uncertain. Embracing the spiritual discipline of patience and surrender helps build trust in God’s process. Over time, I’ve learned that pruning can also lead to a stronger connection with God, as it invites deeper reliance on Him rather than our own strength. Ultimately, understanding that God cuts what He plans to grow helps us reframe struggles as purposeful steps toward greater fruitfulness in our faith journey. This perspective encourages us to remain hopeful and open to transformation, knowing that each season of cutting leads to abundant spiritual harvest.
