🤫 Gatekeeping This Hotpot Spot
Hotpot without the usual “what soup base should we get?” debate?
We recently went back to Wanglu Hot Pot and were reminded why it’s one of our favourite personal hotpot spots in Singapore.
We couldn’t resist going back for the Tomato Soup again 😍 but also tried new options this time like Fish Soup with Milk, White Pepper Pork Tripe, and Herbal Chicken soup bases.
The best part here is everyone gets their own individual pot. No sharing soup.
Having different soups on the table honestly made the whole meal more enjoyable because everyone just eats what they actually want.
We ordered the 2 Pax Set, which came with quite a generous spread:
✨ Beef Chuck Eye Roll
✨ Pork Collar
✨ Red Grouper Fish
✨ Fresh Prawns
✨ Prawn Paste
✨ Liver
✨ Clams
✨ Handmade Tofu
✨ Vegetable & Mushroom Platter
Small tip: don’t skip the Braised Pork Rice. It was part of the set and need to top up, but it surprisingly was one of the best parts of the meal.
Plus one drink is included — we got the lemon winter melon tea 🍹
We also added a few sides because we were extra hungry:
🔥 Spicy Chicken Wings
🔥 Golden Goh Hiang
🔥 Brown Sugar Ci Ba
Ended the meal with Sesame Rice Balls in Peanut Soup 🍡
Another nice touch is that ingredients can be swapped if there’s something you don’t eat, and the soup bases are refillable too.
💬 If you could only choose ONE hotpot soup base, what would it be?

One of the aspects I truly appreciate about Wanglu Hot Pot is the individual soup pots for each person. This not only eliminates the common debate about soup base choices but also allows everyone to savor their preferred flavors without compromise. From personal experience, this setup makes the meal feel much more personalized and satisfying. During my visits, I’ve also found the soup bases to be refreshingly diverse. The Tomato Soup remains a crowd favorite, but the Fish Soup with Milk and Herbal Chicken bases introduce a novel twist that complements the fresh ingredients beautifully. Each pot is refillable, so you never have to worry about running low on your favorite broth. The 2-pax set is a delightful spread, generously packed with protein options like Beef Chuck Eye Roll, Pork Collar, Red Grouper Fish, Fresh Prawns, and even Prawn Paste. The inclusion of Handmade Tofu and a Vegetable & Mushroom Platter balances the hearty meats, making it great for health-conscious diners. If you’re a fan of rice dishes, don’t miss adding the Braised Pork Rice to your meal. It’s a small upgrade but surprisingly one of the highlights that brings comforting, rich flavors that complement the hotpot perfectly. For drinks, the lemon winter melon tea serves as a refreshing palate cleanser between bites. Don't hesitate to try additional sides like Spicy Chicken Wings and Golden Goh Hiang, which add an exciting contrast of flavors and textures. Ending the meal with Sesame Rice Balls in Peanut Soup is a thoughtful, sweet finish that feels like a warm hug after indulging in savory dishes. Flexibility is another big plus at Wanglu Hot Pot — swapping certain ingredients if you have dietary preferences or allergies is hassle-free. This customer-friendly approach makes it easier to enjoy a customized hotpot experience. Located at several convenient outlets such as Causeway Point and Jurong Point, Wanglu Hot Pot is a consistent go-to for anyone craving delicious, fuss-free individual hotpot dining in Singapore.
