This $9.90 Curry Fish Tail Exists?! 👀
Some of the best zi char meals aren't found in fancy restaurants... they're hidden inside neighbourhood coffeeshops.
We recently stumbled upon Fu Lee Seafood, and it reminded us why heartland zi char will always have a special place in Singapore's food scene.
⭐ What caught our attention?
🍛 Signature Curry Fish Tail 招牌咖喱鱼尾 — $9.90
Still bubbling away in a claypot when it arrived, the curry was fragrant without being overpowering. The fish was tender, and every spoonful of curry went perfectly with rice, beancurd skin and just about everything on the table.
Honestly, it's hard to believe this dish starts from just $9.90.
🦐 Salted Egg Prawn 咸蛋王虾球 — $19
This ended up being our favourite dish of the meal.
The prawns were crispy, generously coated with creamy salted egg sauce, and had that savoury richness that keeps you reaching back for "just one more".
🥩 Fried Fermented Pork Belly 南乳炸肉 — $17
Nicely crisp on the outside with a savoury fermented beancurd flavour that wasn't too overpowering.
🥬 Deep Fried French Bean 干扁四季豆 — $10.50
A simple dish done well. Crunchy, fragrant and a great balance to the richer dishes.
