Wait… Gelato Made From Rice?! 🍚🍨
We thought we were just stopping by for dessert… but this turned into one of the most meaningful food experiences we’ve had recently. 🤍
Instead of the usual flavours, we tried Singapore’s first enriched rice gelato, made with SōngHè Plus enriched fragrant rice. It has a light pandan aroma, a gentle natural sweetness, and a subtle chewy texture that reminded us a little of mochi. It’s familiar, yet completely different from any gelato we’ve tried before.
What made this visit stand out even more was learning that every scoop purchased helps donate a bowl of rice to Chen Su Lan Methodist Children’s Home. After enjoying your gelato, you can place a cute sticker on the donation wall, making the experience feel a little more personal.
There are also a few fun activities to explore while you’re there:
🍚 Guess the number of enriched rice grains for a chance to win $1,000
🎡 Spend $30 for a spin on Sundays
🤍 Leave your cute bowl sticker on the donation wall
Of course, we couldn’t leave without trying the Buttermilk Waffle with Ube ice cream too. Paired with a Matcha Latte and Hazelnut Chocolate, it made for one of those slow afternoons where you simply enjoy good company and good food.
We’d recommend this if you’re looking for:
✔️ A unique dessert in Singapore
✔️ A casual date idea
✔️ Something different from the usual café hopping
✔️ A dessert that’s part of a meaningful initiative
📌 Save this for your next dessert date or weekend outing.
