Looking For Dessert Near Kovan? Save This 🍨 ⭐

📍 Just a short walk from Kovan MRT, we found a dessert spot that’s worth saving for your next café or dessert date.

At first, we came for the taro. By the end, every dessert had something we genuinely enjoyed.

✨ What stood out:

🍠 Taro Family Tau Fu Fah 芋人家豆花 ($8.90)

Silky smooth bean curd with mini and large taro balls, creamy yam paste, then finished with Bentong Ginger Syrup 文冬姜糖. The ginger added a gentle warmth that balanced the sweetness really well.

🖤 Shaved Ice On The Go ($8.90) ⭐ Our favourite

Black sesame shaved ice with soya beancurd, red bean, mini taro balls and peach gum. It was so frozen that we couldn’t even use the straw at first and ended up eating it with a spoon. 😂 Once it softened, every sip became rich, nutty and so satisfying.

🥭 Mango Family Ice 芒果雪花冰 ($9.50)

Generous mango chunks over fluffy shaved ice made it the perfect refreshing finish.

Beans.Factory - Dessert & Beancurd @ Kovan

7/21 Edited to

... Read moreIf you're exploring dessert options near Kovan MRT, consider stopping by Beans.Factory, a charming local spot that has impressed many with its unique dessert offerings. Beyond the popular taro and shaved ice dishes featured, I found that their generous portions truly make it ideal for sharing with friends or family, which adds a social element to your dessert experience. One thing I appreciate about this place is how they balance flavors thoughtfully—the Bentong Ginger Syrup on the Taro Family Tau Fu Fah introduces a subtle warmth, preventing the sweetness from becoming overwhelming. Also, the texture of their bean curd is incredibly smooth, which pairs perfectly with the chewiness of the mini taro balls. For those who might be new to black sesame desserts, the Shaved Ice On The Go is a standout. Initially so frozen it was hard to drink, you quickly realize how the flavors meld into a rich, nutty experience once it softens. The addition of peach gum and red beans creates an interesting texture contrast that elevates each bite. I also recommend trying the Mango Family Ice during warmer days—the fluffy shaved ice topped with generous fresh mango chunks is refreshingly sweet without being too heavy. As a tip, the presentation at Beans.Factory is not only Instagram-worthy but also reflects the care put into each dish, making it perfect for dessert dates or casual outings. Whether you're a student looking for an affordable treat or a local seeking a hidden gem, this spot offers reliable quality and comfort. Don't forget to bring friends along; sharing these desserts enhances the overall experience and allows you to sample multiple varieties in one visit.

Trying out the Lala Hotpot in Kovan 🤍
Tried this Lala charcoal hotpot in Kovan. Flavourful broth, affordable side dishes, mix-your-own sauce station. We went at 8+ PM on a weekday, no crowd at all. Love the charcoal pot (so rare now!) and the old Hong Kong photos gave the whole place a nostalgic vibe. Total bill came up to $68
