Doing stupid things
You know those days, right? The ones where boredom hits, and all you crave is some good old, wholesome, utterly stupid fun with your besties. I totally get it! There’s something so liberating about letting loose and just being silly together. It's not about being productive or smart; it’s about making those laugh-until-your-stomach-hurts memories that you’ll talk about for years. I remember one time my friends and I were so bored, we decided to try and make gourmet meals using only dollar store ingredients – spoiler alert, it was a disaster, but the laughs were priceless! So, if you're looking for some genuinely stupid things to do with friends that will guarantee a good time, here are some of my favorite antics to get you started: 1. Epic Blanket Fort Challenge: Forget childhood; adult blanket forts are next level! Gather all your blankets, pillows, and furniture. Set a timer, assign roles (architect, interior designer, snack manager), and build the most magnificent, or most ridiculous, fort you can imagine. Bonus points for string lights and a movie inside! 2. Themed Dress-Up Day (for no reason!): Pick a random theme – maybe “superheroes doing mundane tasks,” “characters from a bad 90s sitcom,” or “animals attending a fancy dinner party.” Spend the day doing normal stuff in your ridiculous outfits. The looks you get are half the fun! 3. Ridiculous Cooking/Baking Showdown: As I mentioned, my dollar store cooking adventure was legendary. You could also try to bake a cake without a recipe, decorate cookies blindfolded, or attempt to recreate a fancy dish from a picture using only basic kitchen staples. The messier, the better! 4. Adult Playground Adventures: Head to a local park and relive your childhood. Swing as high as you can, go down the slide backwards, or try to conquer the monkey bars. Just be respectful of actual kids if they're around! It’s surprisingly fun and a great way to feel like a kid again. 5. Bad Movie Marathon & Commentary: Pick a selection of the worst-rated movies you can find. Provide live, sarcastic commentary throughout. The goal isn't to enjoy the movie, but to enjoy making fun of it together. Popcorn and questionable snacks are a must. 6. DIY Fashion Show with Bizarre Items: Raid your closets, hit a thrift store, or use household items. Challenge each other to create the most outlandish outfits. Then, strut your stuff with an impromptu fashion show, complete with silly poses and commentary. And what about those moments when you can't be together, but still want to share a laugh? That’s where stupid memes to send to friends come in! Memes are the ultimate inside joke in picture form. I love sending my friends ones that perfectly capture our shared struggles, obscure references, or just something so absurd it makes no sense. Animal memes doing human things, oddly specific reaction memes, or even just a picture of a random object with a profoundly silly caption – these are pure gold. You can even try making your own memes from funny photos you’ve taken of each other during your silly escapades. It’s a fantastic way to keep the good vibes going and remind each other of your shared, wonderfully stupid adventures. Ultimately, doing stupid things with friends isn't about being unproductive; it's about strengthening bonds, de-stressing, and creating a bank of hilarious stories. So go ahead, embrace the silliness, and make some unforgettable, wonderfully dumb memories!
