Would you come for a guided tour with me?
I'm still training to be a tourist guide and I'll be honest. It's bloody tough juggling full time course and full time work.
The passing rate from the previous batches range from 60-70%. It's so difficult to pass.
I've no intention to retake the assessment if I fail so I'll just enjoy the process. What comes may!
Exploring Singapore through guided tours offers unique insights that self-guided trips often miss. Kampong Glam, in particular, fascinates me with its blend of cultures and history dating back over 200 years when Sir Stamford Raffles established a trading post here in 1819. I've visited sites like the Sultan Mosque and learned about the area's significance to the Muslim community, which adds depth to every visit. For those interested in enriching their sightseeing experience, consider tours that include personal storytelling and historical context. These tours bring to life stories about local figures and landmarks, making the heritage tangible. Also, don’t hesitate to engage with guides during tours; asking questions or sharing impressions can enhance your understanding and enjoyment. My own journey as a trainee tourist guide has shown me how challenging yet rewarding it is to juggle study and work. But through this process, I’ve gained new appreciation for Singapore's cultural mosaic and look forward to inviting others to see it through an informed lens. If you’re curious about sightseeing tours in Singapore or want to explore less trodden paths, guided tours like the ones I aspire to lead offer valuable perspectives and memorable experiences.
