I am just about ready to go home from this deployment and If you are someone who is gonna get deployed soon for the first time here are some tips I learned before and after being deployed. I hope these are helpful to at least one person on here that is in the military.

🌺Tip 1: DON’T PROCRASTINATE
Why: I am one who procrastinates A LOT and it was probably the worst thing I did before I left home so PLEASE do things ahead of time.
🌺Tip 2: SAVE SAVE SAVE
Why: this your opportunity to save so much money cause you won’t be able to go off base as often so shopping, ordering take out is not really gonna be useful. But also be careful of online shopping when ur bored cause remember you gotta either mail it home or take it on the plane and that’s just more packing for you to do.
🌺Tip 3: VOLUNTEER
why: I know I didn’t volunteer for things which is something I wish did more but honestly it will help you build more connections with other people from different places and at least you know someone outside your squadron.
🌺Tip 4: WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING.
Why: leadership is not always around all the time so keep track of everything you do like things you volunteered for, what you did, accomplishments, things you need to or ask you to do.

If you can set up automatic deposits into a savings account, you will return home with a financial buffer. Lastly, take notes throughout your deployment. Document your experiences, accomplishments, and lessons learned. This practice helps in evaluating your growth and can serve as a motivational tool and a great resource for future deployments.
