Replying to @Amber Rose Just know I’ve… Seen some things… 🙃
Okay, so I have to clear something up after @Amber Rose's comment, because honestly, girl, I thought you meant a retired marine vet, as in a marine biologist vet or something! 🤣 I'm not laughing because I'm insulted, trust me. I'm laughing because that's actually kind of a very funny mix-up to have. I completely understand how someone could get those two things confused, but wow, it caught me off guard and gave me a good chuckle! Seriously, I was enjoying some chicken nuggets and I choked on a crumb when I read it – the sheer surprise and momentary embarrassment! It's just so typical of my everyday life, honestly. You know those moments when something hits you unexpectedly and you literally gasp or choke? Yeah, that was me. But no, um, definitely not a marine biologist. I was a United States Marine. So, my experiences were less about coral reefs and more about camaraderie, discipline, and some truly wild adventures. Definitely not dealing with sea creatures, unless you count some of the unique characters (both human and otherwise!) I encountered during my service! 😉 And to clarify, I wasn't retired. I separated with an honorable discharge—nothing crazy, no dishonorable mentions, just moved on to the next chapter after my time was up. It's interesting how people perceive things, isn't it? One word, 'marine,' and it can conjure such different images. For me, being a U.S. Marine was a huge, defining part of my life, filled with experiences that definitely shaped who I am today. It’s not always sunshine and rainbows, and yeah, my mind's a little messed up sometimes, but I'm allowed to say that because I'm talking about myself! It's just some of the service-related things that stick with you, you know? The things you see, the challenges you face, they leave a mark. It's not something I often dive into online, but this light-hearted comment from @Amber Rose really got me thinking and laughing about how quickly misunderstandings can happen. I wanted to share this not just for a laugh, but because it's a reminder that we all have incredibly unique journeys, and sometimes the biggest laughs (or even moments of introspection) come from the most unexpected interactions. It's easy to assume, but it's always better to clarify, right? My time in service gave me perspective, strength, and a whole lot of stories—though thankfully not about dissecting fish! I'm immensely grateful for those experiences, even the tough ones, because they've woven into the fabric of who I am. And yes, there's much more service-related stuff to share down the line, but not quite yet, not quite yet. Have you ever had a funny mix-up like this that completely caught you off guard, or led to a moment of unexpected self-reflection? It's wild how a simple word can lead to such a hilarious and personal moment. Let me know in the comments if anything similar has happened to you!
