Friend Break Ups

Recently I had a disappointing friend break.

Part of me felt hurt but the other half saw it coming.

She treated people like they were disposable, and deep down, I don’t think she’s ever been genuinely happy for her friends who did things she’s never gotten to do … especially get married.

But this discussion isn’t going to be about ex-friend bashing, but how hard it is to find a solid girlfriend!

Growing up I loved shows that had a dope girl squad whether it was two or more.

Friends, The Parkers, Girlfriends, Sweet Magnolias, and the list goes on!

I guess what made those shows so amazing was the core dynamic of the group.

They fought, they cried, they had bad work days and good days, but it was all about togetherness and treating your friends like family.

Checking on them, going over their house, helping them with their kids or pets but still living your own life.

Today it just seems so hard to find that.

People mistake me for desiring a healthy friendship with me feeling neglected in my marriage. That couldn’t be further from the truth!

I love love love my man! He’s an amazing husband, provider, and listener and that man always makes me laugh.

But the fact of the matter is men and women were created differently and there’s Thinsg men just don’t get because men and women think differently and that’s okay!

I’ve come to appreciate and understand that.

But why does it seem like most women don’t?

I’ve come across two below 23-year-olds that’s commented “ I’m not an everyday friend” … that comment irks me so much.

I know I’m a low-maintenance friend and don’t expect a friend to give me the attention my husband does, but why does it seem close to impossible to find friends who want to have that togetherness as a family does?

Or am I just asking for too much?

No, I'm not asking for a call and a text every second, but simply just a check-in…

A friend who wants to hang out at the end of the week no matter what and catch up on what’s been going on in life!

Anyways what are your thoughts on a healthy friend dynamic? What’d your best friend relationships look like? What do you wish it looked like? #friends #love #peace #fyp #winter

... Read moreFriend break ups can be deeply painful, often leaving us questioning the authenticity of our friendships. In today's fast-paced world, maintaining connections with friends requires effort and understanding. It's common to feel neglected or undervalued, especially when facing life's milestones alone while our friends seem indifferent. Many people have experienced relationships that lack mutual support, which can lead to feelings of loneliness even in close circles. Healthy friendships, like those depicted in popular TV shows, illustrate the importance of consistent communication and emotional availability. A solid friendship doesn't necessarily mean constant contact, but rather being there for one another during important life events. It's worthwhile to reassess the kind of friendships we cultivate - are they nurturing, or merely habitual? We crave genuine connections where we feel valued and appreciated. Social media presents a new layer to friendships, often creating illusions of closeness while masking underlying issues. Reflecting on past break ups may guide us in identifying what qualities we seek in future friendships. Ultimately, seeking friends who embody the qualities of loyalty and compassion, much like family, is vital for our emotional well-being.
