CREAMY CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS CROCKPOT 🥣🍗
it’s almost soup season!!! 🍁 A comforting, creamy chicken and dumplings recipe made easily in the crockpot.
Ingredients:
2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
4 cups chicken broth
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
1 cup chopped carrots
1 cup chopped celery
1/2 onion, diced
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup frozen peas
1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (cut into small pieces)
Directions:
Prepare the Crockpot: Place chicken breasts, chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, carrots, celery, onion, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and pepper into the crockpot.
Cook the Chicken: Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
Shred the Chicken: Once the chicken is cooked, shred it with two forks and return it to the crockpot.
Add Dumplings: Stir in frozen peas. Layer the biscuit dough pieces on top of the chicken mixture.
Cook Dumplings: Cover and cook on high for an additional 1-2 hours, until the biscuits are fully cooked and fluffy.
Serve: Serve warm and enjoy this cozy comfort food!
