It means believing that He has our best interests at heart, even when we can't see the full picture. It's a daily choice to let go of self-reliance and embrace divine reliance. Then comes the part, 'And lean not on your own understanding.' Oh, how challenging this can be! We're taught to be smart, to analyze, to plan. And while wisdom is good, this verse reminds us that our human understanding is limited. Sometimes, the path God wants us to take doesn't make logical sense to us at first glance. And the beautiful promise is, 'And He shall direct your paths.' This isn't a guarantee that life will be easy or that every step will be clear. But it is a promise that He will guide us. When we genuinely trust, let go of our need to control, and invite Him into everything, He provides clarity, opens doors we never saw, and closes others that weren't meant for us. The peace that comes from knowing your steps are being ordered by a loving God is immeasurable. It takes away the pressure to be perfect and allows us to walk forward with confidence, knowing we're on the right track, even if we can't see around the next bend. This verse has been a constant source of strength for me, reminding me that I don't have to have all the answers, because I serve a God who does.
