No secret my breakup crushed me and no secret I wished for my family above and beyond.
BUT, I finally learned to be by myself, re-learn myself, focus on weight loss, focus on education, focus on my health, focus on what I want. This helped me focus on being the best version of myself for my daughter ✨💪🏻🌸
I think one of the most humbling parts of my journey was realizing I don’t need another human to fill a void, I don’t want to be with anyone, sex is something I’m interested in, and exploring the opposite gender won’t help me fill in my loss.
Many tears, time alone, self reflection, and healing has some my way and to any mom out there who is experiencing grieving someone who is alive someone you share a child or children with? Please hear me when I say it gets better ✨🩷 I used to feel like I’m such a lover girl and look for love or allow it to come right away without learning to heal myself and re focus on healing from the trauma I just went through.

From my personal experience, the healing journey isn't linear—it’s filled with ups and downs, unexpected tears, and moments of profound clarity. What helped me most was embracing solitude not as loneliness but as an opportunity to rediscover myself. I started by setting small, realistic goals around my health and education. Weight loss wasn't just about appearance but about regaining control over my body and confidence. Pursuing education—whether formal classes or reading self-help books—gave me a renewed sense of purpose and growth.
In addition, tuning into my emotions through journaling and self-reflection enabled me to confront feelings I had previously pushed aside. I realized that seeking relationships immediately after heartbreak only delayed my healing, as I was trying to fill emotional voids instead of addressing them. Understanding that sex and exploring relationships aren't solutions to pain was a big milestone. Instead, it brought me peace to accept that being single doesn't mean being incomplete.
For any mother navigating co-parenting with someone alive yet emotionally distant, it’s important to recognize your own worth and boundaries. Grieving a relationship while still sharing children makes emotional clarity essential. Surrounding yourself with supportive communities—whether through online forums like #healingmyself or peer groups—can provide comfort and validation.
Finally, embracing spirituality and patience can be powerful. I found solace in reminding myself of divine timing and grace, trusting that everything unfolds as it should. Remember, healing is deeply personal and sometimes slow, but it gets better. Celebrate every small victory, be gentle with your heart, and focus on becoming the best version of yourself—not just for your children but for you.
