You’re Allowed to Put It Down
Being “the strong one” sounds admirable
until you realize how much it actually costs you.
It means you’re the one people call.
The one who holds it together.
The one who doesn’t always get to fall apart
at least not out loud.
And somewhere along the way,
you learned how to carry everything
without asking for help.
Your feelings.
Other people’s emotions.
Responsibilities that were never meant
to sit on your shoulders alone.
But strength without space to rest
turns into exhaustion.
And exhaustion doesn’t always look dramatic
sometimes it looks like silence,
withdrawal,
or just feeling… heavy.
You don’t have to prove your strength
by how much you can hold.
You’re allowed to be supported too.
You’re allowed to not have the answers.
You’re allowed to be held
the same way you hold everyone else.
And if you’re not ready to put it down in front of people…
you can put it down with God.
Because He’s not asking you to carry it all
just to trust Him with what you can’t.
You don’t lose your strength by resting.
You protect it.
