🤰🏻Changing my daily skincare products

More than halfway through my first trimester, I started to google “pregnancy-safe” skincare and had a rude shock to find out that some products aren’t good to use for preggy mums 😳 not gonna lie, I felt guilty for a few days.. 🥹 thinking maybe I should have done my research earlier. Note: Looking back, honestly, do not need to be so hard on ourself. We know of friends who completely ignore these and yet, their kid(s) turned out just fine.

Pre-pregnancy:

I was using brands like sulwalsoo, lancome toner, random hydration mask from diff brands (dr jart+, biodance ++), anessa sunscreen, bobbi brown serum & primer and much more. Then I found this website https://www.15minutebeauty.com/pregnancy-friendly-skincare-products.html and since then, have used this to guide me on the ingredient checks.

Profile of my skin type:

- oily on the surface, dry underneath

- sensitive skin

Completely swap out most of my skincare products and these are what I use now:

✨ 🇫🇷Avene milk cleanser

- I also top it up with ✨ Foreo luna play plus 2 for a more thorough clean. Shoppee prdt code: ABT-CDX-EEL

✨ 🇩🇪Dr Hauschka- Toner and day cream

Can I say I am in LOVE with this brand? They opened their first storefront at Novena Medical Centre.

> Facial toner (tighten pores, absorbs well): Shoppee prdt code- CMN-EST-JSC

> Rose day cream light (hydrates and gives off matte and radiant finishing)

Shoppe prdt code- BQF-QKV-LRK (you can also try the normal Rose Day Cream (works very well as a primer, before make up)

> I have tried various products under them like Night Serum, Regenerative Treatment etc. I love it!

✨ 🇸🇬Ceradan- Ceramide Skin Barrier repair

Shoppee code: CMV-PSL-GPK

My hub loves the aircon so, I need to combat the dryness….

✨ 🇫🇷Clarins Pregnancy set: Body Partner and Tonic oil (mainly for Tummy and Boobs)

- Body Partner: Shoppee prdt code: ANN-YWW-YYL

- Tonic oil: Shoppee prdt code: BLH-MTA-NJD

✨ 🇫🇷Loccitane Almond Milk concentrate (mainly for Tummy and overall leg and bum)

Shoppee prdt code: CKD-HJT-KUT

✨ 🇰🇷Biodance toner pads

Shoppee prdt code: BTQ-JWG-WQP

Use it anytime you feel like pampering yourself/ have time

✨ 🇩🇪 Labello Lipbalm

Shares the same parent company as Nivea but they somehow don’t carry this in Singapore. It’s available on Amazon but so much cheaper if you can get someone to help you buy while in Europe. I have tried different brands: nivea, vaseline, mentholatum, burt’s bee ++ and LABELLO IS THE BEST.

... Read moreWhen I first started looking for pregnancy-safe skincare options, it was overwhelming to sort through all the brands and ingredients. One helpful tip I learned is to avoid common irritants like harsh acids and retinoids, which can be found in some popular products and aren’t ideal for pregnant moms. In Singapore, brands like Avene and Dr. Hauschka stood out for their gentle, thoughtfully formulated products that avoid these irritants. If you’re thinking about simplifying your routine, I believe it’s smart to focus on multi-functional products and smaller sets that you can use consistently rather than a large collection that may be unused. For example, instead of buying a full Bobbi Brown set, picking a few must-haves like a gentle cleanser, hydrating toner, and a nourishing cream can reduce complexity and help minimize exposure to risky ingredients. Also, I found that layering simple products like a soothing toner pad from Biodance and a good ceramide-rich cream like Ceradan helps repair and protect my skin barrier, especially with the dry office air conditioning. For lips, Labello lip balm has been my go-to because it’s hydrating and safe — definitely worth trying if you’re also on the lookout for trusted lip care. This journey taught me that it’s important to listen to your body and adjust as needed, but also not to stress too much. Many moms do well even with less stringent routines. Ultimately, choosing safe, effective products that fit your lifestyle makes daily skincare an empowering and enjoyable part of pregnancy self-care.
