Priority Love God First, for He is a Jealous God
In John 13:34-35, Jesus urged us to love one another as He has loved us. This profound commandment reminds us that prioritizing love, especially for God, is crucial to our faith journey. Loving God first means acknowledging His sovereignty and recognizing that He desires a personal relationship with each of us. The Bible speaks of God as a jealous God, calling us to exclusivity in our devotion. Deuteronomy 6:5 emphasizes, 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.' This entails fully investing ourselves in our spiritual lives, ensuring that nothing else takes precedence over our relationship with Him. By loving God deeply, we reflect His love to others, fostering a community rooted in compassion and mutual care. With such dedication, our interactions with others can become an embodiment of Christ’s message, echoing His love through our actions and words. This calling to prioritize God influences our lives profoundly, shaping our decisions, impacting our values, and redefining our purpose. Embracing this truth allows us to understand the significance of love in our daily interactions. By engaging with God first, we cultivate the foundation necessary for loving others sincerely and selflessly.
