Improve Your Breast Milk! **CC**
1. First weeks of PP you may experience engorgement. This is how your body figures out how much your baby needs in order to be full. Drain your breast after every feeding with your breast pump.
2. STAY HYDRATED: Hydration is very vital to your supply. Drink 4 bottles of water daily. You can drink Pedialyte and/or Body Armor are also ways to stay hydrated.
3. EAT! EAT! EAT!: I can’t stress how diet is extremely important to continue producing milk and what you consume can promote breast milk. Some examples are protein like eggs, veggies like spinach, FF milk, oats, oatmilk, oreos, vegetables oil. And many more!
4. SUPPLY DEMAND: Our body will only produce how much we let down. If our babies are not feeding or we are not pumping we will not produce much! Latch your baby as much as possible or pump every 2-3 hours.
5. Power Pump: If you noticed a decrease in supply power pumping is a great way to mimic cluster feeding! Pump for 20min Rest for 10mins pump for another 10mins rest for 10 mins then finish with a 10min pump. Do this 1-2 times a day. It should take 2-3days to see increase.
6. MINIMIZE STRESS & ANXIETY: Not many talk about this but stress can play a role in your milk production! Remember to put yourself first, do what makes mommy happy! That’s the only way you can be the best version of yourself. Have self care days, shower/bathe, dress up, do anything that helps you get back to you. So you can be your very best.
