ðThe stars vs the Kalam formula
In Thai society, we are familiar with horoscope, looking for good beauty, predicting dreams, greeting events for peace of mind, but many people are confused: "What exactly does Buddhism teach? Can you believe? Do you have sin?" This article directly captures the principles from the Tripitaka to understand the correct course of Buddha's teachings. ð
ð 1. What did the Buddha categorize these things?
The Buddha called the horoscope, the guesswork, the prediction of dreams, the vision of astrology, the superstitions, "the brute," which means the subject of the brute, the low subject, the subject that is not helpful to the out of suffering.
â the reason it's called "brute transcendence."
1. It's not knowledge that leads to disengagement. It's just world knowledge.
2. Based on prediction, guessing, observing external signals, not intuition of the truth.
3. Often cause learners and believers to become entangled, not develop wisdom.
4. Buddha forbade monks to study, not to make a living because it was considered a wrong profession.
ð 2. Vital Buddhism: How is it said?
â Number 1: Karma is great. The stars are just a retinue.
"All animals have their own karma, the heirs of karma, and the origin of karma, and karma is dependent on karma, and karma classifies animals as bad and good." - Angkut.
Meaning: Our lives are not based on stars, or angels, but on our own actions, thoughts, words called "karma." The stars are just the environment, not the mastermind of life.
â Number 2: The true star is the good Kala.
The Buddha asked the king Urn:
"The great king thought that if a man slaughtered an animal, stole, misbehaved, lied, drank drunk water, would do good in good times, would he be freed from sin? And if he did evil, would he gain merit?"
The king replied, "No sin, no merit, Lord."
The Buddha then concluded:
"Look at the Great, the best star is not the day of the year or the position of the stars, but" good deeds, "philanthropy, good deeds, and that is the true beauty that brings happiness." - Sangyutnu.
â Article 3: Do not believe ignorance (Kalam formula)
"Do not believe because you listen to each other, do not believe because it is customary, do not believe because of the rumor, do not believe because of the texts, do not believe because of the logic, do not believe because the inference, do not believe because the trim matches the opinion, do not believe because the speaker is respected, do not believe because we think that our teacher is an adult."
"When you know for yourself that this dharma is charity, unpunished, the praise of good people, bow down for good, then you should believe and follow it." - Angkut.
â Number 4: Karma is unpredictable.
"The work of the work is profound, unreasonable, unpredictable, even if Arhat is only partially perceivable, only the Buddha knows it all." - Abhidharma Pika.
ðī The wrong thing should not be done because it is classified as an education for Buddhists.
1. Hold the sun big: Think of "what the sun is like, it must be like, it cannot be changed" â Wrong principle, because it is equal to rejecting the power of one's own actions.
2. Ignorance, ignorance, lack of consciousness: fear until you dare not do anything, lose a lot of wealth to exorcise, dissolve the horoscope, perform strange rituals â bring suffering, lose money, regret.
3. Believe until neglecting good deeds: Think of "good luck already, no merit is rich" or "bad luck. Doing good is no use" â This is the worst opinion.
4. Primitives do these things: monks see the horoscope, make the divination, make the exchange of property â undiscipline, unfit as inheritors.
⥠4. Compare clearly.
â / star = weather map / weather forecast
- Say it's raining tomorrow â It doesn't mean we have to wet the rain, of course. We just prepare the umbrella. The raincoat is not wet.
- Say, sunny â We just don't underestimate. Be careful, hot. Be careful, tired.
â If we think: "Forecast says rain, I don't have to do anything, wait only for wet," this is credulity, lack of wisdom.
â karma = umbrella preparation / clothing / housing â is something we customize. Really controllable.
â stars / stars = weather â external factors, some predictable, some unpredictable, finally up to us how to cope.
ðĄïļ 5. Bad horoscope. How to do? Not suitable. What to do? (The solution)
The Buddha did not teach him to solve sprains, but to "solve the cause is karma, and karma is our action." ð ïļ
â 6. Brief summary.
1. Horoscope is a beast of transcendence â not the essence of dharma, just auxiliary knowledge.
2. Karma is more important than the stars â Masterful life in which actions are not stars.
3. True glory is good. â Where to do good is good.
4. Use but don't seize â as information, not verdict; as a reminder, not a manipulator.
5. It's changeable â Just change your mind, your words, your actions, your life changes immediately.
The Buddha said sweetly:
"He is his refuge. Who else can be a refuge? He has trained himself well and has a rare refuge."
So our lives are not in our hands and our hearts. This is the core of the teachings that the Buddha gave us. ðâĻ
