🔹 1. The main karma that makes it the shortest-lived.
The slaughter of animals is the most important factors:
- Kill the animals themselves.
- Order others to kill.
- Appreciation. Pleased to see the killing.
- Cruel in heart, no mercy for life.
- Thinking, wishing others would die.
This karma, at maturity, will receive a short-lived, easily ill, premature death.
🔹 2.5 Dharma that makes it short-lived (according to Anayustra)
1. Do not know self-care - not enough rest, overwork, danger taking
2. About Unknown - Eat, Drink, Stay Not Fit, Too Much To Mayhem
3. Consume hard to digest / toxic things - rotten things, super hot things, super cold, intoxicants.
4. Travel in times is not appropriate - go to a lonely place, risk, danger time.
5. Lack of conduct - no precept, no mercy, dating the wicked
🔹 3. Other supplementary factors
- Envy, desire for others.
- Be angry easily, impatient, often physically and mentally abusive.
- Destroy drugs or things that save lives.
- Obstructing the assistance of the sick.

As opposed to the whole cause:
1. Keep the slaughter of animals steady. Article 1.
2. Be merciful. Wish well for all animals to live.
3. Give medicine, help the sick, maintain life.
4. Know fit to eat, stay, rest.
5. Keep the precept 5, behave, be good.
จากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวที่ได้นำหลักพุทธศาสนาเกี่ยวกับเหตุแห่งการมีอายุสั้น-ยาวมาใช้ในชีวิต พบว่าสิ่งสำคัญที่สุดคือการดูแลจิตใจและร่างกายให้สมดุล เมื่อเข้าใจว่าการฆ่าสัตว์ ไม่เพียงแต่ส่งผลเสียต่อจิตใจเท่านั้น แต่ยังมีผลต่อกรรมที่ทำให้อายุสั้นตามหลักธรรม ผู้เขียนจึงพยายามหลีกเลี่ยงการทำร้ายชีวิตและลดการบริโภคเนื้อสัตว์ ประกอบกับการรักษาศีลข้อหนึ่งอย่างเคร่งครัด ทำให้รู้สึกจิตใจสงบขึ้นและสุขภาพโดยรวมดีขึ้นอย่างเห็นได้ชัด นอกจากนี้ การรู้จักประมาณในการกินอยู่ พักผ่อนอย่างเพียงพอ และหลีกเลี่ยงสิ่งที่เป็นพิษหรือละเมิดศีล เช่น ของร้อนจัด ของมึนเมา ก็มีผลต่อความยืดหยุ่นของร่างกายและลดความเสี่ยงเจ็บป่วยเรื้อรังได้อย่างมาก การเจริญเมตตาต่อผู้อื่นและสรรพชีวิตก็ช่วยให้จิตใจแจ่มใส ลดความโกรธและอิจฉาริษยา ซึ่งเป็นสาเหตุที่ทำลายทั้งร่างกายและจิตใจ การช่วยเหลือผู้เจ็บป่วยและสนับสนุนการรักษาชีวิตในชุมชน ทำให้รู้สึกถึงความหมายและความเชื่อมโยงกับผู้อื่น ทำให้ชีวิตมีความสุขและยาวนานยิ่งขึ้น สุดท้ายแล้ว การบำรุงรักษาตามหลักธรรมเหล่านี้ไม่ได้เป็นแค่แนวคิดทางศาสนาเท่านั้น แต่ยังได้รับการยืนยันจากประสบการณ์จริงว่าช่วยส่งเสริมสุขภาพทั้งทางร่างกายและจิตใจ สร้างความสงบสุขในชีวิตประจำวัน และเป็นหนทางหนึ่งสู่การมีอายุยืนและคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีตามคำสอนของพระพุทธศาสนา
