Hope is a hell of a drug

3/4 Edited to

... Read moreHope often feels like a powerful drug that can dominate our emotions and decisions, even when logic suggests otherwise. From my personal experience and observations, this powerful feeling can equate to an addiction—sometimes called being a 'hope addict'—where the desire to believe in better outcomes blinds us to reality. This struggle is similar to withdrawal symptoms experienced during detoxification from substances. When hope is taken away or challenged, a person may feel confusion, disappointment, and emotional pain that is difficult to process. The journey to overcome this emotional dependency requires understanding the betrayal one might feel—whether from ourselves or others—and the impact it has on our mental health. Learning how to navigate these feelings involves listening carefully to our inner voice, accepting the painful truth, and reclaiming optimism without drowning in it. Like physical detox, emotional detox takes time and patience, with gradual steps towards saving one's mental 'oxygen' and rebuilding a stable and healthy sense of hope. I have found that acknowledging the power of hope as both a motivator and a source of vulnerability helps in regaining control. It’s important to balance hope with realism and to surround oneself with supportive messages that do not reinforce false expectations. This way, one can manage hope’s powerful effects without letting it lead to repeated emotional setbacks. Understanding this complex dynamic is essential for anyone struggling with the addictive cycle of hope and disappointment.

Hell me find the PERFECT pair of white trousers!
I’m searching for the perfect high waisted, white, pleated trouser for my honeymoon! Some this similar to any of these! Some Notes: ▪️A&F don’t fall nicely on me ▪️Aritiza’s are only lined in front, very sheer in the back. But beautifully cut. I have them in darker colors and I love them.
