Getting invited to influencer events isn’t hard but you need to elbe strategic on social media. Here are my tips for getting invites:
📲YOUR BIO: Optimize your bio so that brands can see your niche, your location, and your email WITHOUT having to press the “more” or “email” button on IG. Make sure your location is a major city.
📲YOUR POSTS: Use the location tag on your posts when you’re posting from home so brands know that is where you’re located.
📲YOUR RSVP: Check your email regularly so that you don’t miss any invites. RSVP quickly, in case there’s a person limit and always be on time when attending events.

... Read moreWhile the original post focuses on how to get invited to amazing influencer events, I've also had experience on the other side – helping brands successfully invite the right influencers to their activations! If you're an event organizer or brand looking to boost your next launch or gathering, getting influential voices there can make all the difference. It's not just about sending out a blanket email; strategic outreach is key.
First off, clearly define your event and what kind of influencer would genuinely benefit from attending and, in turn, genuinely promote it. Is it a product launch, a tasting, or a networking mixer? For example, if you're hosting a sophisticated tasting for a new beverage like the 'DELOLA Spritz,' you'll want lifestyle, food, or beverage influencers whose audience appreciates such experiences. Consider their niche, audience demographics, and engagement rates, not just follower count. A micro-influencer with high engagement can often deliver more authentic impact than a macro-influencer with a disengaged following.
Next, finding these relevant influencers takes a bit of research. Start by looking at who is already talking about similar products or events in your industry. Instagram’s location tags and hashtags are great resources, as are influencer marketing platforms. Don't be afraid to think outside the box; sometimes the best connections come from personal recommendations or even spotting someone doing great work on a platform like Lemon8! Once you've identified potential partners, make sure their content aligns with your brand's values.
Now, for the invite itself – this is crucial for getting influencers to RSVP. Personalization is non-negotiable. Address them by name, reference their specific content, and clearly articulate why they are a perfect fit for your event. Highlight the unique value proposition for them: Will they get exclusive access, networking opportunities, or a sneak peek at a new product? Be transparent about expectations (e.g., if there's a gifting component or specific content requirements). Include all the essential details: date, time, location, dress code, and a clear RSVP deadline. Make it easy for them to say yes!
Once the invites are out, be prepared for follow-ups. Influencers have busy schedules and full inboxes. A polite reminder closer to the RSVP deadline can be very effective. When they do confirm, send a detailed confirmation with all event logistics. On the day of the event, ensure they have a fantastic experience – a positive impression goes a long way. After the event, don't just disappear! Follow up to thank them, share any relevant assets (like professional photos), and explore opportunities for building a long-term relationship. Successful influencer events aren't just about one-off attendance; they're about fostering genuine connections that can benefit both parties for future collaborations.
