What 25 taught me

Everyone has their own life to lead, their own struggles to solve and their own milestones to complete. We should never assume the choices people make right off the bat.

Realising and understanding is one thing, what we do after to change is another. Actions speaks way louder.

We can’t make everyone agree or like you. Peace comes from accepting that whatever you do, someone will always have something to say. It is a blessing to have someone who understands first. Learn how to listen before reacting.

Over-explaining just tires yourself. Learn how to pace your own thoughts and share what feels safe and right.

Definitely the most important - choosing the right people to go through life together. Prioritising genuine people that feels right.

... Read moreTurning 25 often feels like a pivotal moment when you start reflecting on life with more clarity. What struck me most was the realization that everyone has their own battles to fight—something I first truly understood by listening more and judging less. It’s become clear that self-awareness alone isn’t transformative unless it’s accompanied by meaningful action. For example, I noticed that accepting criticism or disagreement without immediate reaction leads to greater peace of mind. It’s freeing to acknowledge that not everyone needs to like you or agree with your choices. What also resonated personally is the power of being understood rather than simply liked. I found this especially true in friendships and relationships. Prioritizing those who genuinely understand and support you can profoundly impact your well-being. It’s equally important to guard your energy by avoiding over-explaining yourself. I’ve learned that pacing my thoughts and sharing only what feels safe has reduced unnecessary stress. Choosing the right people to share your life with is, without a doubt, among the most crucial lessons I’ve embraced. These authentic connections foster growth and offer invaluable comfort during challenging times. At 25, embracing these insights has helped me focus on what truly matters—living authentically, taking purposeful actions, and nurturing relationships that uplift me. These lessons, though simple, have been transformative in navigating adulting with more confidence and peace.

i don’t have friends, and honestly… i’ve learned to be okay with that. it’s not something i say out of bitterness or to make myself feel better, it’s something i’ve slowly come to accept. i would rather be at peace being alone than constantly living in my head, overthinking every little thing, w

What my mentor taught me about Overcoming Fear
When I first started working on myself and my business, one of the biggest things holding me back wasn’t time, money, or talent. It was fear. Fear of failing. Fear of looking stupid. Fear of “what will people think?” Fear of trying something new in Singapore’s very “play safe” culture. But

What 2025 taught me (as a girl in her 20s)
2025 has been a year of growth and maturity for me. 1. You are not too much. The first lesson came from an incident with a close friend. Everything fell apart out of the blue. It felt like when a friend slowly loses interest in you. I later heard the gist that I was “too much” for him, that I

What Leaving Taught Me
This is what leaving a toxic love felt like. When I was in that relationship, I thought control and jealousy meant care. I thought saying sorry a hundred times would somehow save us. But all it did was chip away at me. Walking away felt impossible, but staying felt even harder. The moment I l

School Taught Me A Lot — Just Not This
Biggest scam? Thinking “good grades = prepared for life.” Every generation inherits the same syllabus. But real life is an open book exam, and the notes aren’t always shared. That’s why we trade lessons here so the next person doesn’t have to pay as much “tuition” to life. Drop one money less
