I’m 👏🏽 so 👏🏽 proud 👏🏽 of 👏🏽 moi !🥳
Ok, as a few of you know, I was trying to make my first hexagon cardigan…But I felt like it was an utter fail 😭
Now thanks to your encouraging words I did not give up on it. However, I decided to start over and scale the size down to see what I’m doing as I was going along…
And boy did it work!! 😃
The lesson I learned… changing projects in the middle of another one is ok to feel better about yourself lol! Now I think I’m ready to tackle my first try, but this is my official first hexagon cardigan. 🥲
Makes me feel pretty groovy… oh and I’m a bit late but happy Spring! 🌷🩷💛💜🤍😌

Crocheting a hexagon cardigan was a real learning curve for me. Initially, I felt like I had failed, especially with the complex shape and pattern. But one key takeaway was that taking a step back and restarting on a smaller scale helped me understand each stitch better and gain confidence. If you're new to working on hexagon-shaped projects, I suggest starting with a smaller size to practice the technique. It also allows you to catch mistakes early without investing too much time. Another tip I found useful was focusing on color coordination. I chose colors that blended well together for a springy, cozy look, which really lifted my spirits as I worked. Although I didn’t finish the weave-ins properly at first, I was too excited to delay sharing the almost-completed project. Adding a zipper later is definitely on my to-do list, which will also make the cardigan more practical. For anyone tackling a similar project, don’t hesitate to change your approach if needed — switching projects mid-way is totally fine! It can renew your motivation and lead to better results. I also recommend joining crochet communities online, where members share encouragement and tips, which was invaluable for me. Embracing the process, learning from setbacks, and celebrating small wins can make crafting a truly rewarding experience. Happy crocheting and enjoy making your own colorful, cozy creations!
