On May 3rd, I visited Toshika Shrine for the moon visit.

This place, which inherits the history of more than a thousand years as Mikawa Province Ichinomiya, is usually wrapped in a quiet sacredness, but on this day, the special air of "Goreisai" filled the entire precinct.

The main hall in the photo is somewhat majestic and dignified even though it faces the cloudy sky. The deep purple curtain swaying in the wind and the golden decoration shining in the slightest light, it was like an entrance to the world of the gods. The tension and elation unique to the day of the festival drifts, and the spine naturally stretches just by walking on the cobblestone pavement.

And in the center of that sacred space, Kaiju Booska stands facing you.

The small orange presence contrasts with the solemn shrine, but it mysteriously melts into the scenery. It is interesting that Booska looks like a guide on a trip in the air of a historic shrine. I felt once again that the fun of shooting my favorite figures while traveling is not just to visit, but to record the atmosphere of that moment together.

Toshika Shrine worships Onamuchi no Mikoto as a deity and has been worshipped by the people of Mikawa Province since ancient times. The annual festival is one of the most important festivals of the year, and a Shinto ritual is held to pray for a rich harvest and peace in the area. The prayers that have been handed down over a long history may be the very form of "human wishes" that do not change even if the times change.

Looking up at the sky, thick clouds flow slowly.

However, even the cloudy sky was reflected in the photos of this day as a special production. A profound feeling that cannot be shown in sunny weather makes the shrine stand out, showing the green of the trees and the color of the purple curtain more deeply. In the quiet air, there was a unique sign of the festival day, as if only time was slowly flowing.

There was so much "air" in the place that it could not be conveyed through the screen of SNS.

The footsteps of the worshipers, the voices of speech heard from afar, the wind shaking the trees, and the prayers of the people heading for the gods all overlap, and this one photo is not just a record, but a moment that confines "the time that existed only on that day."

I think that the time spent quietly at the shrine, the atmosphere of the seasonal festival, and the memories of the cloudy sky looked up with Booska are the important scenery of the trip that I want to think back again and again.
