... Read moreBuilding a "To Be Read" (TBR) list is one of my favorite parts of being a bookworm! It's like creating a personal book profile โ a snapshot of all the incredible stories waiting to sweep you away. My current list is a colorful stack of adventures, romances, and thought-provoking tales, and I'm so excited to share why each one has earned a spot in my heart (and on my shelf!).
First up, I'm absolutely itching to dive into 'Renegades'. I've heard so much about this superhero-themed fantasy, and the idea of a world where prodigies with extraordinary abilities clash sounds utterly captivating. Marissa Meyer is a fantastic storyteller, and I'm really curious to see her take on heroes and villains. Itโs definitely a unique twist on the genre, and Iโm ready for some action-packed reading.
Then there's 'The Love Hypothesis', which has practically taken over BookTok! As someone who loves a good contemporary romance, especially with a fake-dating or enemies-to-lovers trope, this one feels tailor-made for my reading preferences. Iโve seen countless raving reviews, and the promise of witty banter and a heartwarming story between a biology Ph.D. student and a hotshot professor makes it an instant must-read for my book profile.
Of course, no fantasy loverโs TBR is complete without exploring the Grishaverse, and 'Shadow and Bone' is high on my list. Leigh Bardugoโs world-building is legendary, and Iโm eager to immerse myself in the magic and political intrigue of Ravka. I love series that transport you completely, and the Netflix adaptation has only fueled my desire to experience the original story. This is one I anticipate will dominate my thoughts for a while!
And for a story that promises to be deeply impactful, 'They Both Die at the End' by Adam Silvera is another one Iโm preparing for. Iโve heard itโs a beautifully written, emotional journey that explores themes of life, death, and connection. While I know it might bring a tear or two, I appreciate books that challenge you emotionally and leave a lasting impression. It's a testament to the power of storytelling.
These titles, alongside another intriguing read, really paint a picture of my current reading mood โ a mix of escapism, emotional depth, and pure enjoyment!
Now, if you're like me and your book profile is constantly growing, here are a few tips I've picked up for managing that ever-expanding TBR list:
Embrace the discovery: Don't be afraid to add new books! Whether itโs from Lemon8 book club recommendations, BookTok trends, or a friendโs glowing review, new discoveries keep reading exciting.
Organize your list: I find it helpful to categorize my books, either by genre, mood, or even priority. This makes it easier to pick what to read next when I finish a book. Sometimes I use a digital app, other times I jot them down in a pretty notebook.
Don't feel pressured: A long TBR list isn't a chore; it's a treasure chest of future adventures! Read at your own pace and enjoy the journey.
Revisit old favorites: While new books are great, don't forget the comfort of rereading a beloved story. It's a wonderful way to reconnect with your reading past.
