Can I get some help?
We have five chicks and we are trying to determine if they are male or female. The first picture is the one I believe is a male. The second. I believe is a female. We are first time owners of chickens so we are open ears to any and all advice or hacks or whatever! #chickens #learn more about my chickens #babychicks🐥🐤 #lemon8
Raising chickens can be a rewarding experience, but distinguishing between male and female chicks can be tricky for beginners. Here are some useful tips to help you determine their sex: 1. **Physical Characteristics**: Males often develop larger combs and wattles than females, though this varies by breed. Generally, males tend to be larger and more robust than females. 2. **Feathering**: The wing feathers of males may grow more slowly than those of females. This is sometimes observed in the first few weeks post-hatching. 3. **Behavior**: Male chicks may display more aggressive behavior, such as pecking or establishing dominance among siblings, whereas females tend to be more docile. 4. **Sound**: Listen for vocalizations; males may start crowing or attempting to do so at an early age. In contrast, female chicks often emit softer, peeping sounds. As you navigate your journey as a chicken owner, don't hesitate to ask for advice from online communities or local chicken owners. Engaging with other enthusiasts can provide you with valuable insights and help you troubleshoot any issues you may encounter. Welcome to the rewarding world of backyard poultry farming!

Second one is definitely a pullet. I need to see the tail feathers of the first one to know what that one is.
