FREE BRAIDING CLASS! We have to create more safe spaces for kids this summer!
We have to create more safe spaces for our children and teens in the community.
With the help of my amazing business partners at Hair Depot, I’ll be hosting FREE braiding classes every Wednesday for kids in our community.
The reality is, not every child is an athlete, musician, or artist. Some kids just need a safe space to sit, breathe, decompress, learn, and feel seen.
I don’t call myself Braidtherapy because it sounds good. Braiding truly saved my life. It gave me purpose, peace, confidence, and a skill that changed the trajectory of my life. If I can pass that gift on to another child, then that’s exactly what I want to do.
Let’s give our youth more options, more mentorship, more life skills, and more opportunities to stay productive and safe.
If you’d like your child to participate, please comment below with their age so we can get a headcount and make sure we have enough supplies, materials, and resources available.

From personal experience, engaging in such programs not only helps kids learn a practical skill but also provides a mental and emotional break from everyday stresses. Learning to braid is more than a creative activity; it's a chance to develop patience, focus, and fine motor skills.
This particular braiding class aims to be more than a typical learning session. It serves as a safe space where kids can relax, breathe, and be themselves without the pressure to excel in traditional extracurricular areas like sports or music. Creating such environments in the community is vital, especially during summer when kids might need constructive outlets to stay productive and feel valued.
The partnership with Hair Depot ensures that kids have access to quality materials and expert guidance. Moreover, the class fosters mentorship opportunities where young participants can connect and feel seen, helping to boost their self-esteem and social skills. It's inspiring to see how braiding becomes therapeutic for many, offering peace and purpose much like it has for the instructor.
If you’re considering ways to support youth development in your community, encouraging participation in free, skill-building activities like this can be incredibly impactful. It’s all about giving children options and helping them grow confident and resilient in a safe, nurturing environment. Don’t hesitate to join and make this summer a positive, safe, and skillful experience for your child.
