Clearing out your cupboards
Have you ever just let a year pass and realized that you let your cupboards/pantries, top of your fridge just fill up? That has been my life since 2022. I moved into this apartment and went through break ups, emotional stress, new school year for my daughter, holidays and I realized yesterday that my cupboards were full! From random food I’ve boughten, received from my parents, or given from food pantries. Yesterday I finally cleaned out my pantry and cupboards and I gave away 7 boxes of food! Currently working on my fridge and the top of my fridge. I’m feeling a lil bit lighter and I had so many things to get done today besides just this like laundry and remaking my bed 😂😂 but it does feel good. I would say I’m not gonna let this happen again but we all know that would be a lie 😂😂
Clearing out your cupboards can be a rejuvenating experience that not only frees up space but also helps in organizing your life. Have you found yourself overwhelmed by accumulated items in your kitchen? It's a common issue for many, especially after busy periods filled with events and stress. To begin, set aside time for this task, ideally during a weekend when you can dedicate a few hours without distractions. Start by emptying out your cupboards and pantries completely. This way, you can assess what you have and decide what to keep, donate, or throw away. Remember to check expiration dates on food items; it's surprising how many things we can accumulate that are no longer edible. Organizing like with like can also significantly improve the functionality of your kitchen. Group similar items together to help you find things easily and avoid duplicate purchases in the future. Consider involving your family in this process; it can be a great bonding activity and teach kids about the importance of decluttering. Plus, seeing your kids take part in the organization can encourage them to keep their own spaces tidy. Once you’ve sorted through your items, think about how to maintain the newly organized cupboards. Regular monthly checks can prevent clutter from building up again. Finally, don’t underestimate the emotional weight that comes with clutter. The act of clearing out your cupboards can lead to a lighter, more organized mindset. It's not just about physical space, but also about creating a more enjoyable and stress-free environment in your home.
