Homemade Granola

Since I started making my own granola, I’ve become a bit of a granola snob. I like it sweet, but not too sweet, and prefer brown sugar or maple syrup flavors to other sweeteners. I like it crunchy, but not too crunchy. Chunky, but not too chunky. I do not like oil on my granola. I like a hefty amount of cinnamon, a pile of nutmeg, a dash of ginger, and a sprinkle of clove. The batch you see here reflects my preferences perfectly. It’s a crispy brown sugar maple syrup pecan pepita pumpkin spice delight that I will enjoy straight up by the handful, and dumped onto yogurt. Do yourself a favor today and make your own granola. For this beauty here I mixed an overflowing cup of rolled oats with a big drizzle of maple syrup and several sprinkles of brown sugar. I added some chopped pecans and a few pumpkin seeds. Like I mentioned, I did not skimp on the cinnamon or nutmeg, but added just a pinch of both ginger and clove. I mixed it all up until every morsel was covered with sugar and spices. I laid it out on a parchment paper covered pan (never decline an opportunity for easy clean up), sprinkled with more brown sugar, and baked on 300 (F) for 30 min. Let it cool for a bit before transferring to a container. Et voila! Delicious homemade granola that’ll make you feel warm and cozy. Like you want to go skipping through the farm with your lambs.
