Breaking Bread at the Mustard Seed with Stacey
🍞Just a Little Daily Bread…🍞
Matthew 13:31-32 ~
“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field. It’s the smallest of all the seeds, but when grown, it’s taller than the garden plants and becomes a tree.”
Sometimes we underestimate the power of small things.
A small prayer.
A small act of kindness.
A small word of encouragement.
A small step of obedience.
Because the seed seems insignificant, we assume it won’t make much difference.
But God specializes in growing small things into something extraordinary.
The mustard seed begins as one of the tiniest seeds, yet God transforms it into something far greater than anyone would expect.
The same is true in our lives.
That prayer you’ve been praying?
It’s a seed.
That person you’ve been encouraging?
It’s a seed.
That act of faith no one else sees?
It’s a seed.
That invitation, that testimony, that Bible verse you shared, that moment you chose obedience over fear…
Every one of them is a seed planted into God’s kingdom.
And here’s the beautiful part:
God never asks us to grow the seed.
He simply asks us to plant it.
The growth belongs to Him.
So don’t become discouraged if your efforts seem small.
Keep sowing.
Keep loving.
Keep serving.
Keep sharing.
Because the God who created the harvest is faithful to grow what you place in His hands.
Father, thank You that You can take even the smallest seed and produce something beautiful. Help me be faithful in planting seeds of faith, kindness, encouragement, and obedience. Remind me that no act done for You is ever wasted. Give me patience to trust You with the growth and courage to keep sowing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflecting on the parable of the mustard seed, I've come to appreciate the profound impact that seemingly small and simple actions can have over time. From my own experience, planting seeds—whether through a kind word, a prayer, or an act of service—often feels insignificant at first, but with patience and faith, remarkable change unfolds. One time, I shared an encouraging verse with a friend who was struggling, not expecting much. Weeks later, that small seed blossomed into renewed hope and strength for them. It reminded me that growth is often invisible at the beginning, but God nurtures these seeds in ways we might not immediately see. This principle applies not only in spiritual growth but also in community building and personal development. Small consistent steps—like listening attentively, offering a smile, or choosing obedience over fear—create a foundation where faith can flourish. It reassures me that I’m not responsible for the growth, only for planting the seeds faithfully. The encouragement to 'keep sowing, keep loving, keep serving, keep sharing' resonates deeply. It means maintaining hope and action even when progress seems slow. Trusting in God's faithfulness to grow what is placed in His hands allows us to persevere with confidence. For anyone feeling discouraged about the impact of their efforts, remember that every small seed counts. Embrace the mustard seed mindset: do not underestimate the power of small, faithful acts. They have the potential to transform lives, communities, and ultimately, the world.
