Galatians 6:7 ~
“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.”
There’s something about farm life that’ll preach all by itself.
You can prepare the prettiest field, straighten every row, and have the richest soil around… but eventually, you have to decide what you’re going to put in the ground.
Because soil doesn’t argue with the seed.
Plant corn, you’ll eventually see corn…
Plant beans, beans will come up…
And friend… you can’t plant weeds all week and then get mad because you didn’t harvest tomatoes on Saturday! 🙌🏼
Our spiritual lives work a whole lot like that.
Every day we’re planting something.
Every conversation…
Every thought we entertain…
Every word we speak over ourselves…
Every voice we continually listen to…
Every choice nobody else sees…
We’re sowing.
And sometimes we’re praying, “Lord, change my harvest!” while God is saying…
“Then, daughter, let’s change what you’re planting.”
If you continually sow fear, fear will start growing…
If you water bitterness, bitterness will spread…
If you rehearse everything that went wrong, discouragement will take root…
But start planting the Word of God! 🙌🏼
Plant praise when you don’t feel like praising…
Plant forgiveness where hurt used to live…
Plant obedience when it would be easier to compromise…
Plant faith in the field where fear once grew…
And then keep watering it…
You may not see anything happening tomorrow.
That’s the funny thing about seeds.
For a while, all the important work happens where nobody can see it.
But hidden doesn’t mean nothing is happening.
Roots are forming…
Ground is shifting…
Life is beginning…
So don’t dig your seed back up just because Tuesday didn’t look different than Monday.
KEEP SOWING! 🙌🏼
God knows exactly what is happening beneath the surface.
And in due season, that little seed of obedience you almost thought didn’t matter may become the very harvest you once prayed for.
You cannot always choose how quickly the harvest comes… but you CAN choose what you plant while you wait!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Jesus, show me what I’ve been planting in the soil of my life. Pull up anything that does not belong there. Help me sow Your Word, truth, faith, obedience, kindness, and love—even when I cannot see immediate results. Give me patience for the growing season and faith to trust what You are doing beneath the surface. May the harvest of my life point people back to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen! 🤍

Reflecting on the theme of "Sow It Saturday," I've found that the analogy of farming and spiritual growth resonates deeply in daily life. Just like a farmer must patiently tend to seeds planted in the soil, we must consistently nurture our hearts with positivity and faith. From personal experience, it’s easy to fall into the trap of expecting immediate change or results when cultivating habits or spiritual qualities. However, like the hidden roots beneath the ground, transformation often occurs quietly before visible signs appear. Using verses like Galatians 6:7 as a guideposts helps focus on what we’re "planting" through our attitudes, conversations, and daily choices. For example, sowing seeds of fear or bitterness inevitably leads to negative emotions that take root, while planting forgiveness and faith fosters peace and growth. It's encouraging to remember that even when our efforts feel unseen, growth is happening beneath the surface. Incorporating this perspective into everyday challenges, I try to consciously replace discouraging thoughts with affirmations rooted in scripture and positivity, paralleling the idea of "watering" the good seeds we plant. Whether it's choosing kindness over resentment or trust over anxiety, these small spiritual acts slowly form the harvest of character we hope to reap. The reminder not to "dig up the seed" too soon is vital; perseverance and patience are essential qualities in both gardening and life. Trusting the process and God's timing provides the strength to maintain faith despite delayed outcomes. Ultimately, "Sow It Saturday" serves as a meaningful weekly checkpoint to evaluate the seeds we’re sowing in our lives—asking ourselves honestly if the harvest we expect aligns with our current actions and mindset.
