Items: Ultra Glossy Lip in ‘Sailor Moon’ | ‘Pretty Guardian’ eyeshadow palette | Pressed Powder Blush in ‘From The Moon’
💰Price: $14-18
👍Pros: the Sailor Moon collection imo is the best collab Colourpop has put out to date! The eyeshadows are very beautiful and I love breaking it out for a pop of bright pink or lavender sparkle ✨
🤔Cons: the lip gloss wasn’t exactly flattering for my skin complexion, so I use it as a topper on lipsticks 💕
Sustainability/Reusability: not refillable but the palette is magnetic! I was able to gently pop out the shades, so you could theoretically reuse it
Things to Note: the blush is a cool-toned hot pink and it’s very flattering but if you have light to medium skin like me, be careful as it’s very easy to build up to extremely high pigment 😅
⭐️Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

... Read moreEver since the ColourPop x Sailor Moon collection first launched, I've been eyeing it, and I finally decided to dive in and share my full experience. Beyond the initial excitement of the adorable packaging (seriously, the Sailor Moon pin on my vanity is a joy!), I wanted to see how these products performed in real life.
Let's talk about the 'Pretty Guardian' eyeshadow palette first. While the original review mentioned the beautiful bright pink and lavender sparkle, I found that the matte shades in this palette are surprisingly versatile. For example, the deeper plum and rich gold tones aren't just for themed looks; they blend out beautifully for everyday wear too. I've experimented with using the shimmery pinks and purples as inner corner highlights or as a pop of color over a neutral base, which really makes the eye makeup stand out without being overwhelmingly bright. The shadows themselves have a creamy texture and minimal fallout, which is always a huge plus for me. I usually prime my eyelids, and with a good primer, these shades last all day without creasing or fading.
Now, onto the Sailor Moon Ultra Glossy Lip. The original article mentioned it wasn't flattering for a particular skin complexion and was used as a topper. In my personal experience, I found this to be true for me too when worn alone. It has a sheer wash of color that can look a little milky on its own. However, as a lip topper, it's absolutely gorgeous! I love layering it over a nude or light pink lipstick to add that extra dimension and an almost iridescent sheen. It transforms any basic lip into something truly magical. For instance, pairing it with a matte dusty rose lipstick gives a plump, glossy finish that makes my lips look fuller and more hydrated. It’s definitely more of a sheer, ethereal gloss than a pigmented one, perfect for adding a touch of sparkle reminiscent of Sailor Moon's aura.
Finally, the Pressed Powder Blush in 'From The Moon.' This cool-toned hot pink is no joke! As the original review highlighted, it’s incredibly pigmented. My personal tip for applying this blush, especially if you have a lighter skin tone like mine, is to use a very fluffy brush and tap off almost all the excess product before gently dabbing it onto the apples of your cheeks. Start with the tiniest amount and build up slowly. I’ve found that a light hand is key to getting a natural, healthy flush rather than an overwhelming pop of color. It blends seamlessly and gives a fresh, youthful appearance that lasts for hours. It truly brightens up my face, especially when I'm wearing pink eye makeup from the palette.
Overall, this collection is not just for Sailor Moon fans; it's a solid lineup of products from ColourPop. The quality is consistent with what I expect from the brand, and the theme is executed perfectly. If you're looking to add some playful yet functional pieces to your makeup routine, the 'Pretty Guardian' palette and the blush are definitely worth considering, and the gloss is a fantastic topper!
