... Read moreOh my goodness, I'm still buzzing from finally getting my hands on the Bridgerton book series by Julia Quinn! Like so many of you, I totally fell in love with the Netflix show, and now I'm ready to dive even deeper into the lives of these incredible siblings. If you're a fan of the show and wondering where to start or what to expect, trust me, the books offer so much more richness and detail!
First off, a quick note for anyone curious about 'Simon Hastings author' – while Simon is a beloved character, the brilliant mind behind his story, and indeed the entire Bridgerton world, is Julia Quinn. Simon Hastings, the dashing Duke of Hastings, is at the heart of the first book, 'The Duke and I,' which follows Daphne Bridgerton's journey. Julia Quinn masterfully crafts his complex past and his undeniable chemistry with Daphne, making their story an absolute page-turner. Getting to read all the internal thoughts and witty banter between them is just *chef's kiss*! You really get to understand why he's so reluctant to marry and how Daphne slowly but surely melts his heart. It’s a classic romance with all the feels.
Then there's the much-anticipated 'Anthony Bridgerton book description.' Ah, Anthony, the eldest Bridgerton sibling and the exasperated viscount! His story is told in the second book, 'The Viscount Who Loved Me,' and it's a fan-favorite for a reason. After witnessing his parents' passionate but short-lived marriage, Anthony is determined to marry for duty, not love. He sets his sights on Edwina Sheffield, but it's her sharp-witted and fiercely protective older sister, Kate Sheffield, who truly captures his attention – and his heart! This book is the epitome of an enemies-to-lovers trope, filled with incredible verbal sparring, sizzling tension, and moments that will make you laugh out loud and swoon. Reading about Anthony's internal struggle between his duty and his growing feelings for Kate, and understanding his fears, adds so many layers that even the amazing Netflix adaptation couldn’t fully capture. The book delves into his vulnerabilities and the true depth of his character. I can't wait to reread it and soak up every delicious detail again!
The best part is knowing there are so many more stories to come. As the colorful spines in my collection show, I have books featuring 'Daphne & Anthony,' 'Benedict & Colin,' 'Eloise & Francesca,' and 'Hyacinth & Gregory' – each sibling gets their own chance at finding love. Julia Quinn has a way of making you feel like you're right there with them, navigating the ballrooms and drawing-rooms of Regency London. If you loved the show, picking up these books is a must to truly immerse yourself in the Bridgerton universe. Happy reading, fellow bookworms!
I got this set for my wife. They’re so pretty and look great on the shelf.
