Faithful Ministry: Running When God Calls You

Those who do not forget yesterday will never see tomorrow. If you don't forget your yesterday, you'll never see your tomorrow. All things are passed away. We go on. When the Lord called me, I ran. I just ran. I asked the Lord, I'm ready right now. And that's, I think, why I'm still really here. And I was 21 when I began preaching.

I was 19 when I got saved. I was saved when I was 19. 2 years later, I'm preaching. And so I've known people like that. Catherine Kuhlman began when she was younger, I think, than 21, when she would stay in farms and sleep with chickens and with animals on farms. I've slept in basements and I loved it. It didn't start in the hotel with me. When I started in the ministry, they put me in basements and I slept in some very cold places, in garages, including in a garage one time.

But anyways, you begin by being faithful and serving the Lord when He calls you and you just run. And it says here, not only did he renounce his former life, he forgot his past, but he became one of Elijah's servants, not the only one. One of them, one All right, it says, and he arose and went after Elijah and ministered unto him ministered unto him.

You know, you cannot serve God till you prove yourself faithful to ministry You can serve the Lord till you prove yourself worthy to serve in some capacity, a minister or in a ministry. So these are very, very key steps.

... Read moreAnswering the call to ministry is often a transformative and challenging journey. From my own experience and witnessing others, the key to faithful ministry lies in wholeheartedly embracing God's call without hesitation. Starting young or at any age, commitment means accepting both the joys and hardships that come with service. Sleeping in cold basements or humble environments, as many pioneers like Catherine Kuhlman experienced, builds resilience and deepens reliance on God. Faithfulness also involves letting go of past identities and fully stepping into new roles. Like the servant of Elijah who renounced his former life, we too must forget our former selves to move forward. This transition isn’t always easy but is essential for spiritual growth. The willingness to serve, whether as one of many helpers or a leader, reflects the humility and dedication God desires. Furthermore, ministry requires proving oneself worthy through consistent service and faithfulness. This might mean starting with small duties and waiting patiently for greater responsibilities. Through steadfast dedication, God prepares us for more significant opportunities to minister and make an impact. Ultimately, running when God calls isn’t just about speed but about readiness and faithfulness in the journey. It’s about trusting God's timing and purpose while persevering through challenges. Sharing these insights encourages those feeling called to ministry to embrace each step with courage and hope, knowing that faithfulness leads to blessings and fulfillment in God's service.
