DIY Starbucks Medicine Ball

2025/4/7 Edited to

... Read moreI used to spend a fortune at Starbucks every time I felt a sniffle coming on, just for their amazing Medicine Ball. But then I realized, 'Why not make this magic at home?' And let me tell you, it's a game-changer! Not only do you save money, but you can also tailor it exactly to your taste, making it even more satisfying. Creating your own homemade Medicine Ball is surprisingly simple, and once you have the right ingredients, you'll wonder why you ever bought it out. The key to getting that authentic taste is using the right components. For the lemonade base, I swear by Newman's Own Old Fashioned Lemonade – it has just the right balance of sweet and tart, and knowing that 100% of their profits help kids makes it even better! Then for the tea, you'll need two types. My absolute go-to is Mint Medley Herbal Tea, which is a delightful blend of cool garden spearmint and peppermint, giving it that refreshing and soothing kick. Pair that with a Peach Tranquility tea bag, and you’re halfway there. And of course, don't forget a good dollop of honey for that essential soothing sweetness and throat comfort! Here’s my super simple method for whipping up this cozy concoction: First, get your kettle going and boil some water. While that’s heating up, grab your favorite mug. Add one bag of the Mint Medley Herbal Tea and one bag of Peach Tranquility tea to your mug. Once the water is boiling, pour about half a cup of the hot water over the tea bags and let them steep for 3-5 minutes. The steeping time can vary depending on how strong you prefer your tea to be. Once steeped to your liking, carefully remove the tea bags. Now, here's where the cozy magic happens! Add about half a cup of Newman's Own Old Fashioned Lemonade to your mug. Stir in a tablespoon or two of honey – you can adjust this amount to your personal sweetness preference. Give it a good stir until the honey dissolves completely. And there you have it! Your very own homemade Starbucks Medicine Ball, ready to soothe your soul and throat. I sometimes add an extra squeeze of fresh lemon juice if I'm really feeling congested, for that extra 'zing' that really helps clear things up. It’s truly a comforting ritual when you’re feeling under the weather or just need a warm pick-me-up. Enjoy!
