How To Use A Rotating Curling Iron
This is definitely one of my favorite heat styling tools. This is how I get longer lasting curls using my rotating curling iron #wandhairstyles #curlinghairtutorial #lemon8diarychallenge #blackfridaydeals
Hey curl enthusiasts! If you're like me and dreaming of bouncy, long-lasting curls without the arm workout, then a rotating curling iron is your new best friend. I absolutely adore mine because it makes achieving salon-quality curls so quick and easy. But like any new tool, there's a knack to it! Here’s my personal guide on how to really master your rotating curling iron for those perfect, lasting waves. First things first, preparation is key for any long-lasting style. I always start with completely dry hair. Even slightly damp hair can prevent your curls from holding. Before I even think about heat, I generously spritz a good quality heat protectant all over my hair. This is non-negotiable for keeping your strands healthy and shiny. Then, I roughly section my hair. For me, working in 1-inch to 1.5-inch sections works best – too big, and the curl won't be defined; too small, and it takes forever! Now, for the main event: using the rotating curling iron. I usually start with the underneath sections of my hair and work my way up. I take one of my prepared sections, comb it through to ensure there are no tangles, and then clamp the very end of the hair strand into the iron. This is where the magic happens! With my iron, I press the rotation button, letting the barrel automatically wrap my hair around itself. I always make sure the hair is wrapping away from my face for a more flattering, open look, but you can experiment with wrapping towards your face for a different vibe. I hold it for about 8-10 seconds, depending on my hair's thickness and how tight I want the curl. You’ll get a feel for what works best for your hair type over time. The real secret to those 'pony girls' curls that last? Once I release the curl from the iron, I immediately catch it in my hand and pin it up with a small clip while it cools. This cooling process is crucial for setting the curl. If you let it drop straight away, it will relax much faster. I leave all my curls pinned up until they are completely cool to the touch – usually about 10-15 minutes, or while I do my makeup. Once cool, I gently unpin each curl. For a softer look, I'll lightly run my fingers or a wide-tooth comb through them, but for more defined curls, I just let them be. Finally, a light mist of flexible hold hairspray locks everything in place. With these steps, my curls last for days, and I hope this quick and easy tutorial helps you achieve the same gorgeous results!
