Frederick McKinley Jones, A Brief History:

Frederick McKinley Jones was a self-taught American inventor best known for inventing mobile refrigeration systems, a breakthrough that forever changed food distribution, medicine, and military logistics.
Early Life:
• Born to an Irish father and African American mother
• Mother died when he was young; Jones left home at age 11
• Received little formal education but was deeply mechanical and curious
• Taught himself engineering, electronics, and mechanics
Major Invention:
• Invented the first successful automatic refrigeration system for long-haul trucks and railcars (1930s)
• Allowed perishable food to be transported safely over long distances
• Enabled modern supply chains for:
