Project Pan

Hey everyone! Seeing my January empties for Project Pan 2025 got me thinking about how I approach this challenge, and for those of you already planning or thinking about your Project Pan 2026, I wanted to share some tips that have really helped me. First off, if you're new to this, Project Pan is all about using up products you already own, rather than buying new ones. It’s a fantastic way to declutter your stash, save money, and really appreciate what you have. For me, it ties directly into my No Buy 2025 goal, and I'm sure many of you considering a Project Pan for 2026 have similar intentions. Starting Your Own Project Pan (or Planning for 2026!) Inventory Your Collection: Before picking anything, know what you have! Go through your makeup, skincare, haircare, and even body care. You might be surprised by how much you’ve accumulated. This step is crucial whether you're starting tomorrow or mapping out your Project Pan 2026 strategy. Choose Your Products Wisely: Don't pick too many items, especially for your first time. I usually aim for 5-10 products across different categories. Think about things you genuinely want to finish: maybe that L'OREAL PRIME LAB primer you've been testing, a BYOMA serum that's half-full, or a HYDRATING MOISTURIZING cream you know you love but have neglected. Don't forget those larger items, like a COCONUT scented body butter that feels endless! Also, consider items that are nearing their expiration date. This makes panning feel purposeful. Set Realistic Goals: Not everything needs to be "panned" completely. Sometimes, it's about hitting pan on an eyeshadow, finishing a lip gloss, or just making significant progress on a larger item like a YANKGG body wash. Celebrate small victories! Track Your Progress: This is where the motivation really kicks in! Take 'before' photos, mark product levels with a marker, or keep a simple spreadsheet. Seeing visual evidence of your progress, month after month, is incredibly satisfying. It keeps you accountable and excited to share your empties, just like I'm trying to do for my Project Pan 2025. Stay Motivated & Overcome Temptation: The "no buy" aspect can be tough, especially with all the new releases. Remind yourself why you started. Look at your progress! Join communities (like on Lemon8!) to share your journey and get encouragement. If you're planning for Project Pan 2026, maybe set up a dedicated space or routine now to help you stick to it when the time comes. Project Panning is a marathon, not a sprint. It teaches you mindfulness about your consumption habits and helps you truly appreciate the products you own.
