Easiest “Yes” I have ever said!
My boyfriend of 5 years planned a trip to one of my places on my bucket list since I was a little girl, Mountain Lake Lodge, where Dirty Dancing was filmed. Also known as the Kellermans. Little did I know he had a plan.
🤍 My Story: Bob and I went to high school together but never hung out. He was older than me and actually hung out more with my brothers and sister. Fast forward 20 years, after a divorce and 3 kids, Bob and I met at a local sports bar. It was love at first site. Bob and I always said we were never going to get married, but something changed his mind.
🤍 How I Felt: When he stopped me in the middle of the gazebo, turned at looked at me and grabbed both hands, I blacked out. All I know is, I said YES!!!
🤍 Plans: My daughter got engaged in November and so we’re going to put her in the spotlight first but we are planning to transform his horse barn into the most beautiful western themed wedding with cow hide, turquoise and lace.
Walking into the iconic Mountain Lake Lodge, the real-life Kellerman's from 'Dirty Dancing,' I truly had no idea my life was about to change. We'd been together for five wonderful years, and Bob and I had always joked about not getting married again. All I remember is the sudden sparkle on my finger and the absolute certainty that flooded through me. It truly was the easiest 'yes' I've ever uttered. It wasn't just the magic of the location, where Penny once gave dance lessons and Baby bravely confronted Jake Houseman; it was the culmination of our love story, finding a second chance at happiness after 20 years. That 'shiny thing' on my finger felt like the perfect symbol of our journey, a promise of forever that felt so right, so effortless. Many of you might wonder what makes a 'yes' so easy. For me, it was the feeling of coming home, of being seen and loved unconditionally. It was the understanding that we've built a life together, blended families, and cherished every moment. The shock and joy were overwhelming, and I honestly felt like I blacked out for a moment, just soaking in the incredible reality of it all. It’s hard to put into words the rush of emotions when someone you love deeply asks you to spend forever with them, especially in a place that feels so cinematic. Now, the real fun begins! While my daughter gets to bask in her engagement spotlight first, we've already started dreaming about our own unique celebration. Transforming Bob's horse barn into a gorgeous western-themed wedding venue is our next big adventure. Imagine cowhide accents, glittering turquoise details, and delicate lace creating a rustic-chic atmosphere. We want our wedding to reflect our personalities and our journey, a blend of timeless romance and down-to-earth charm. It’s going to be a day filled with love, laughter, and a whole lot of country flair. And it all started with that unforgettable moment at Kellerman's, proving that sometimes, the best 'yes' is the one you never saw coming.
