I Was Laid Off the Day After My Birthday

I turned 31, & I thought I was going to have the best year ever, but the day after my birthday I was told by my job that they could not afford my salary. 🧐

For me, this was the first time ever in my work history that I’ve been laid off, and unexpectedly ( mean I quit before but got a job like three weeks later).The first thing that came to mind was God. Deep down inside I was actually filled with peace, but that only lasted for two weeks. The responsible thing to do was to look for jobs and I did.

I learned that:

*your degree means nothing when the workforce is tight.

*you can plan for what could possibly happen, but that never happens, something else does.

*your job is not your security.

*your boss is not your bestie no matter how much they dap you up 🤛.

I’m going to share my story about my experience up until now.
