Your brain has a filter called the RAS that only shows you what matches your beliefs. Believe you’re broke, it shows scarcity. Believe you’re a winner, it shows opportunities.

These three films don’t entertain you, they reprogram the filter.

The Matrix: the system you’re living in.

The Truman Show: how many of your goals someone else wrote for you.

Gifted Hands: same brain, different programming, completely different life.

Watch these back to back. You won’t see the world the same way Monday morning.

6/10 Edited to

... Read moreThe Reticular Activating System (RAS) in your brain essentially acts like a personal filter for everything you experience, showing you what aligns with your current beliefs and shutting out what doesn’t. What’s fascinating is how the films mentioned - The Matrix, The Truman Show, and Gifted Hands - work as powerful tools to consciously retrain this filter. From personal experience, after watching these films consecutively, I noticed a profound shift in how I perceive my environment and life choices. The Matrix made me question the 'system' or the default reality I had accepted unquestioningly. It forced me to recognize that many societal norms are constructs that don’t necessarily serve my personal growth or happiness. This awareness sparked a newfound curiosity to explore alternative viewpoints and challenge established routines. The Truman Show was especially impactful because it highlighted how much of our goals and desires might be influenced or even imposed by others—family, culture, media. It made me reflect deeply on which ambitions truly resonate with my authentic self versus those subtly planted by external forces. This realization encouraged me to redefine my objectives and pursue what genuinely inspires me. Lastly, Gifted Hands showcased the power of rewiring the brain’s programming through determination and perspective shifts. It was inspiring to see how similar starting conditions could lead to drastically different life outcomes simply based on mindset and choices. This movie reinforced my belief in the brain’s plasticity and the importance of adopting empowering beliefs to alter life trajectories. Overall, these three movies collectively serve as a mental reset button. Not only do they entertain, but they also provide mental models for recognizing and overcoming limiting beliefs by retraining the RAS filter. I recommend watching them in the suggested order to fully experience the progressive rewiring effect on your mindset. You’ll likely start the week with a fresh outlook, seeing possibilities where you once saw limits.
