How are you getting a headstart on future you?
How are you getting a headstart on your future self? I’ll post a video holding you accountable daily!
It's officially December, and I've been thinking a lot about what it means to truly get a 'New Year's Headstart' on our future selves. Why wait for January 1st when we can start building momentum now? For me, this 'December challenge' isn't just about setting resolutions; it's about making tangible progress every single day. I've realized that the secret isn't some grand overhaul, but rather 'changing one thing' consistently. It's about taking 'a step to' become the person you aspire to be, right here, right now, ensuring you're 'investing more' in your personal growth. One of the biggest lessons I'm learning is the importance of 'investing more' in myself, not just financially, but in terms of time and energy. This could mean dedicating an hour to learning a new skill, diving into a good book, or even just spending quality time reflecting. It's also about 'being more flexible' – not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. Being open to new ideas, adapting to unforeseen challenges, and not being rigid in my thinking has opened up so many doors. I've found that when I prioritize my growth and 'getting more flexible' in my approach, everything else starts to fall into place. A huge part of this headstart journey for me has been 'putting myself first'. It sounds simple, but how often do we truly do it? This means setting clear boundaries, confidently saying no when necessary, and carving out non-negotiable time for self-care and personal development. For a long time, I struggled with 'not having such a soft spoken voice' – literally and figuratively. I often hesitated to express my opinions or stand firm in my decisions. This challenge has pushed me to find my voice, to speak up with confidence, and to assert my needs. It's a continuous journey, but every small step feels like a significant victory in building a stronger 'future self'. To keep myself on track, daily accountability has been absolutely key. Whether it’s journaling my progress, sharing my goals with a trusted friend, or even just checking in with myself through daily reflections, these practices ensure I’m consistently moving forward. Remember, it's 'not too late to join' this movement of preparing your 'future self' right now. Don't let the 'New Year's people' – those who traditionally wait until January 1st to make changes – get a 'head start before' you in building a better tomorrow. The best time to start was yesterday; the next best time is today. So, what's that one change you can make today to kickstart your progress? Perhaps it's committing to daily reading for 15 minutes, dedicating an hour to a new creative hobby, or simply practicing more mindful and positive self-talk. The goal is to build small, sustainable habits that compound over time, leading to significant transformation. This proactive approach allows us to truly build a 'head start before' the rush, ensuring we step into the new year not just with a list of resolutions, but with real, established progress and a stronger sense of self. Let's make this December a month of intentional growth and lay a solid foundation for an amazing year ahead!
